Dollywood Lane

Saturday morning, Waverly woke us up bright and early!

My little morning person sure doesn't care if we are on vacation or not! She's up and at 'em by 7:00 every day!

By 8:30, we were all up and ready for Breakfast!

Mommy was so happy that everyone likes her favorite morning restaurant, Flapjacks!

Waverly got to color with Mamaw and Papaw while we were waiting for our food.

She even tried on Mamaw's glasses!

After a good breakfast of scrambled eggs and lots of pancakes and syrup, Waverly was ready to go to Dollywood!

We rode the tram over to the park and then we were off!

Waverly really enjoys her umbrella stroller (since Mommy and Daddy forgot our big, no-messing-around stroller at home and had to make a pit stop for a little stroller!). She though cruising around and poppin' wheelies was a blast!

We did a LOT of walking!

Papaw was always right there to hold onto Waverly, pick her up so she could see the sights and keep her busy!

Smiling for Papaw after taking a little climb!

Waverly really enjoyed watching the people on the roller coaster rides.

Go figure! Dad and Mom are not big thrill seekers in that department, but our wee one was all excited to see the pendulum swinging the screaming strangers this way and that.

I bet she'll love to ride when she's a bit older!

We did take one ride that everyone enjoyed, the train around Dollywood! It was great! The train was named Katie and the conductor told us about the history of the train, the area and about country life. The soot and smoke from the coal burning was something I had never seen before. It was very authentic and we all enjoyed the ride! Waverly even took a little nap!

After a funny magic show, we had a great lunch. Papaw gave Waverly pizza, home fried potato chips and ice cream! She loved everything, but ate an entire cup of mandarin oranges to make Mommy happy!

During our lunch break, security set up for Dolly Parton herself to take a ride through the park! We were so excited!

Dolly's carriage was driven behind a local band through the crowd! She waved to everyone as she passed by. She must have been in a hurry, because we only caught a glimpse of her!

Picture time!

Up next, we watched some performers sing famous country songs.

Waverly was ready to boogie! She loved dancing to all the music! I think people had more fun watching her dance!

Dance, Baby!

We all looked at the craftsman shops, including the candle makers and the steel workers. We watched a workman make a metal sign using sand as a mold. After checking out some more shops, we went to the Pines Theater for another music show!

This was Waverly's first time in an actual theater. We weren't sure what she would think about the dim lights, loud music and all the people. To our delight, Waverly was very excited when the music came on!

She stood on Papaw's lap to get a good look.
The DreamLand Diner show featured music from the 50's to now. Waverly loved ALL of it!
She danced and danced!

She even sang along!
She rocked her pretend "baby" while singing "baby, baby, baby" loudly among the other performers! I think she would have walked right on stage if we had let go of her!

Hollywood, here I come!

After such a long day, we all went to the hotel for naps!
Waverly went to sleep as soon as she was in the car seat.

After a nice snooze, we went to dinner at Fudruckers.

Waverly finally mastered how to drink from a straw. She thinks a straw is a must have for any cup now!

Daddy, Mommy and Waverly visited some shops before turning in for the night. We had to rest up for our last exciting day in Gatlinburg!
