A Goldfish Picnic

Let's have a picnic!
Is there anything better?

And Goldfish?  Goldfish?!?

It was awesome!

Put on a happy face

This is proof that every moment is not a happy, smiling one.

Technically, he isn't stuck.
Harlan could move back and forth just fine;
its just that he wanted to evacuate his hidey-hole
from this exit point.
Obviously, it was frustrating.
Sissy rescued him though.  She showed him the alternate exit.

Bananas at Bedtime

Bedtime snack, anyone?

Nothing much beats a banana at bedtime.
Combined with a cartoon, and these two kids were happy campers!

Happy Birthday Friend!

Our friend Olivia turned 2 this weekend!

Happy Birthday, Liv!

We had so much fun playing at Liv's house
and enjoying her Minnie Mouse birthday party.

All of the kids loved playing in the huge backyard.
Harlan showed us all how to be a lion...

and Wavy taught us how a crab walks.
Or something like that.

We played inside too,
and the kids were so glad to play with Liv and Sophie.

Since the mommies are best friends,
its a good thing the kids get along great too!

Cowgirl Wavy

Wavy loved playing cowgirl in her new boots.
She said, "I'm the lasso-ing-est cowgirl around!"

They must know that holding hands melts Mommy's heart.

The Amazing Hula Hoop Girl

Wavy has a new trick!
She has learned to hula hoop!

She's self-taught,
and actually pretty good for a 3 year old.

She can get the hoop to circle her middle once or twice before falling to the ground.
She has the concept down and is trying hard!

She will be an amazing hula hooper in no time!

I WANNA AWANA

Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ.
This year, Waverly and Harlan participated in the Awana program at our local church.

Every Wednesday night, the kids would all gather at church for dinner
with their friends.  Our friend, Abby Kate, had invited us to join her.

Both kids had so much fun.
They had dinner and played with lots of kids before going into their separate classrooms.

Harlan played in the nursery, but also participated as a Puggle.
Puggles are introduced to learning about the bible and God
with songs, crafts and simple activities.

Wavy belonged to the Cubbies club!
This group of preschoolers learn about God, the greatness of his love and his word.
They love the puppets, games and activities, and mostly, their cubbies friends!

Waverly made friends with Abby Kate's friend Hannah.
They took turns climbing the walls...

All together now!

It was great to go to Awana a few times.
We started towards the end of the program,
but now that we have new friends
we can't wait for more!

Chillin' with my Shades

Oh the joys of a sunny day!

We had to bring out our shades for the car ride home.

Harlan rocked his blue sunglasses.  He was a cool dude!

Miss Waverly was very chick in her 50's style shades.

Happy Mother's Day

A day to celebrate being a mom...
I wish to celebrate that every day!

This Mother's Day was all about flowers.

Daddy had this gorgeous basket sent to Mommy's work.

On Sunday, the kids had fun playing with the wind catchers at Baby Gail's house.

Then later at home, we made Mother's Day handprints and fingerprints.

The poem reads:
I made these May flowers
with mu finger and thumb,
so you'll have these memories
for all the years to come!

The kids had also planted Mommy some flowers and
helped them grow!

Happy Mother's Day to every
woman who has ever hugged a baby, kissed a boo-boo,
and passed on love and wisdom to a child.

Country livin' is the life for me!

Livin' in the country has its perks.
Like playing outside in a big yard, or swinging on the porch swing.

And having fun making silly faces too!

Of course, there is work to be done sometimes...

But we have lots of heavy equipment to get the job done!

We put the kids to work too!

Since they love "trackers" and "do-do"
(ahem, tractors and dozers in the words of Harlan),
they were happy workers!

Rollin' like a big kid

Wavy loved riding on the cart at the store!
So grown up!

Happy Feet

Movies with the kiddos are still just a bit too long to sit all the way through...
there is just too many other things to get into!
But we found a movie that captivated the audience...
Happy Feet.

Both kids were completely in awe.
They watched with rapt attention as the penguin danced and sang.

Side-by-side, of course.
The watched the majority of the movie too!

In the 'Hood

Harlan really liked his new hooded bath towel!

It was nice to see him excited about getting OUT of the bath!
He is all about splashing in the water, so usually its a task to get him out and dried off.

Tigger did the trick though!
He liked his "hat" and being all wrapped up!

Momma loved all the cuddles!

Cupcake Kicks

Wavy loves her new shoes that Aunt Philly bought for her!

They are quite cute and sporty!

She was also delighted to have a cupcake...

Guess you get your kicks wherever you can! ha!
