Well, another well check!

All is well on the home front!
Little man is up for his 6 month check up.
He was a real trooper, cooing and smiling for the doctor!

He did a good job of showing the doctor all of his tricks - dropping toys, reading a book (um, tearing pages out), reaching up, standing on his little (BIG!) feet, and playing with Mommy.

He showed the doctor how tall he is now and he got to sit in the boat to be weighed!
Then came those terrible boo boo sticks!  But Harlan was such a trooper!  He barely winced and only teared up at the last stick.

Since it'd been a hard day, Harlan thought we should do some visiting at Mommy's office and show off how tough we are!  Of course, he wouldn't let go of that fantastic teething toy!  Ms. Claudia had a blast with him, and he just loves to see her smile!  He might be just a bit sweet on all the ladies...

Sidewalk Chalk!

Wavy has discovered a new form of art - sidewalk chalk!
Best 99¢ ever spent!

The sidewalk chalk has been so much fun!  And its the first time we've had a sidewalk to draw on!  Wavy has learned to recognize some letters and numbers.  She has already mastered all of her shapes.  I am most proud of her recognition of a trapezoid!

Can't help but love this picture!  She's growing up too fast!

A Day with Pappy

Nothing like a good visit at Pappy's!
Plus, Uncle Chris is here to play!

Harlan test drove the John Deere.  He'll be ready for his own tractor soon!

Then Wavy and Tanner went to see the ducks with Pappy.  The ducks have grown up since Easter!  They liked watching the ducks and talking (ahem, quacking) at them!

It was off to the swings next!
With Tanner and Wavy, the day has to be filled with plenty of outside things to do.
Pappy was kept busy the whole time!

Watch out!  Aren't they too young to be driving?

Look Mom!  No hands!
(insert mild panic attack here!)

Just kidding, momma!  I can drive!

Sometimes its nice to be a passenger though!
Just enjoying the ride.  Nothing like some summertime!

Sunshine & Sprinkles

Nothing quite like a summertime visit with friends!

Best of friends!

Abby and Waverly are so cute together!
We are lucky to have such good friends in our lives.  The girls were all ready to play in the sprinkler!

Patiently (?) waiting for Chris to set up the sprinkler!

Abby ran all over the yard, getting as soaked as possible!
Waverly was a bit more timid... she kept saying "my hair will get wet!"  Ah, the life of a princess.  Cute as a button, but not so big on the sprinkler!  She had fun seeing how close she could get to the "rain" to get her hands wet, but not her hair!

Harlan had fun too!  Not in the sprinkler, but he got to visit with Aunt Katie and practice some crawling around and playing with the puppies!

Then he spent some time hanging out with Chris.  Guy stuff included a nap and some tv.

Later, the girls had some baking lessons in the kitchen.  On the menu?  Cupcakes, of course!

Wavy chose to make blue cupcakes, and Abby wanted to pink!
So blue and pink baby cupcakes we made!

It was messy but tasty!  The girls loved having little cupcakes that we made into whoopie sandwiches   We always love spending time with our buddies!

A Little Catty

All cats and kittens are now called "catty" around Waverly.
She chose her own name for cats.  So cute!

And she's a little "catty" herself!

Tubby Tubby

Waverly has claimed one of brudder's lovies as her own.
This little dinosaur cloth is cute as a button, and she has really latched onto it.
She named him "tubby tubby" for whatever unexplained reason.
She is using her imagination so much right now.  She loves tubby tubby and he has to be snuggled with her at night night.

Cheerio Cheerios!

Focus.... Focus...
You can do it!
Just grab a hold of that little O!

Harlan's first cheerios were a huge success!
He loved them once he figured out how to get those little cheerios in his hand to his mouth!

I did it! Yum!

Half-Pint

Harlan at 6 months old!
I must say this every month, but where does the time go?  He is half-way to his first birthday!

Harlan is changing so much every day.  He is so sweet and lovey!
Not only does my little cuddle bug like to snuggle, he is really all grins and giggles now.

Harlan is doing great for 6 months old, reaching all his milestones!
He loves to play with all his toys, especially whatever his sissy is playing with!
His favorite show is Baby Einstein.  He likes to be sang to, with our song being his favorite!  Even Wavy sings it to him now.

He is chewing on everything, hoping to cut some teeth soon.  He is growing so tall.  He reaches out to be picked up.  He is enjoying his new snacks, since he can now have some cheerios and gerber snacks.

Such a fun age and such a funny boy!

In the neighborhood...

What a nice ride!
These kiddos are such fans of the outdoors.
We go for a walk around the neighborhood almost every evening, after it cools off a smidgen.

Both Wavy and Harlan enjoy our walks.  We talk about everything that we see!
Flower beds, puppies and "cat-ties", cars, trees and houses are always commented upon by Wavy.  She will wave to all the neighbors as we walk along.

Brudder just reclines back in his seat and enjoys the ride!
He is happy to be outside and looking around at all the sights.  Whenever we pass another family out for a walk, he just smiles his cheesy grin.  Wavy is busy waving and watching in awe as kids learn to ride bikes and as the older couple walk their dog.  It always makes our walks more interesting!

We often have to "stop and smell the roses"... ahem, yellow clover.

Both babies don't like it when our walks are done, but after a mile or so of pushing that heavy stroller in the heat, Momma needs a break!  But if they ask nicely, we are likely to be right out there making another lap around the neighborhood!

We all scream for ice cream!

Wavy loves that the ice cream truck comes through our neighborhood!
Every time she hears the ice cream truck's song, she is ready to go get her treat!

Of course, her favorite ice cream treat is a Dora the Explorer character.
She loves the episode of Dora where they hear the ice cream truck and set off to catch up to it.  They have to go over Strawberry Mountain, across the Chocolate Lake and that's how they will get to Coney Island to the ice cream truck's next stop!  Just ask Wavy.  She will tell you all about it!

I adore Wavy's excitement to see the ice cream truck.  Its even better than the ice cream!  It reminds me of the stories when I was little and my papaw chased down the ice cream truck just for me!

Ridin' along in my automobile

Teaching him how to drive a little early...

but making his daddy proud!  He can steer the wheel, check the mirror and shift gears with the best of 'em!

Smelly Feet!

My silly girl!  She was checking to see if her feet were stinky.
She decided that they smelled good.

Snack Time

A familiar scene around here...
They share everything else; might as well lounge together during snack time!

I seeeee you!

Who is that adorable baby?
That would be my Harlan!

He found himself in the mirror!
What a cute baby for him to play with!

What should the caption be for this photo?
Look, Mom!  No hands!
or

Pat-A-Cake

Wavy and I have so much fun baking in the kitchen together!

Today we made peanut butter and chocolate crescents and then cinnamon sugar crescents.
Wavy was more than helpful!  She spread the butter and peanut butter on the crescent rolls and then sprinkled the cinnamon sugar.

But when it was time to add the pieces of Hershey chocolate, she couldn't help but sneak a few big bites!  Silly girl!  The treats turned out yummy and it was another great project for us girls!
