Reach for the moon

Do all kids like the moon?
Harlan spots the moon before the sun goes down, and just like Wavy,
loves to reach for it.

One day, I'm sure they will find a way to catch the moon!

Pumpkin Paintin'

It's that time of year;
time for the annual pumpkin painting party!

Everyone painted a pumpkin!
Harlan and Wavy started with a variety of colors.
Wavy's white pumpkin ended up a dark, purple-black color by the time she was finished with her art work!

We had so much fun playing with our friends!

Even the adults joined in the pumpkin painting fun...
Pappy painted a witch on his pumpkin,
while Uncle Map painted a bass fish.

Later, after the paint dries, Pappy will load up the wagon with all the pumpkins,
and set them up for display on haystacks near the road.

Just Dance

Our 5th dance lesson...
and we finally have smiles!

.
Waverly caught sight of mommy looking through the window
at her and that was all she needed to let go and have fun.
Though I had assured her many times before that I was just outside the door in the hallway,
she just wasn't convinced.

After that, though, she was ready to dance!

She paid attention to Ms. Raven and followed all of the dance steps.
The girls are learning how to do a plie, and practice bending their knees while standing up tall.
Waverly particularly likes the little games they play, like butterfly catcher and peanut butter & jelly, to learn the movements.

It was wonderful that Wavy is enjoying dance so much more,
as she's become more comfortable in her class!

This week is brought to you by the letter... I

The star of this week is the letter I!
Waverly did great writing her upper- and lower-case I's.
We had ice cream, made an inch worm and a picture of a bowl full of scoops of ice cream.
This was a fun week!

Smiles for $1

Just for fun,
I took the kids to the Dollar Tree.
They were excited to be allowed to pick out one toy, whatever they liked!
(Little did they know, everything was just a dollar!)

So many decisions for such little people.

After carefully looking over ALL of the toys, books,
stuffed animals, craft supplies, and noise makers,
Harlan chose a monster truck and Waverly chose a baby bottle for her baby doll.

Roar!

This week is brought to you by the letter... H

We learned all about the letter H this week.
We talked about habitats, which worked in perfect since Waverly caught
a frog on the same day.

We did our painting craft, had ham for dinner,
and learned how to write the letter H.

The Princess & the Frog

Waverly caught a frog!!!

She tried hard not to squish him,
and she really did give him a kiss.

This one wasn't a prince though.

And the next night...

This one wasn't a prince either.

Just like mommy

Wavy insisted on wearing a nightgown that was Mommy's when she was a little girl.
Yes, that is Lady Lovely Locks, the princess of the 80s.

Sittin' with Pa

Harlan and Papaw,
sittin' together to look for horses.

I think they are the best of friends.

The student becomes the teacher...

We are learning the letter H this week,
so we played with Halloween stamps to decorate our letter H.

Waverly was so kind to show Harlan how to do the stamps.
She was very thorough in her explanation...

Harlan was just glad to get to play with stamps too!

My First Bike

Waverly is so excited to have her first real big kids bike!

Safety first!
That means going to buy a brand new helmet.

Papaw helped Wavy take her first bike ride.
She did really well!

And she is super proud of herself,
as she well should be!

Cruisin'

Brudder isn't too scared to let Sis drive!

Breakin' Beans

The garden did fairly well this year,
thanks to Memaw and Ppaw.

We had a ton of beans.
Mommy really likes to break beans and help can them.
Looks like Miss Wavy is going to like to help too!

She broke her fair share of the green beans!

Harlan had more fun just playing in them...

Playin' at the Park

Another park adventure!

We've found this little park that is the best.
It's not too crowded, well taken care of,
and the kids love all the play equipment!

Both kids were really brave and climbed up high
on this jungle gym.

Lacie came with us and she had a blast too!

Waverly climbed the highest she ever has before!

Dance your heart out

It's time for dance lesson #2!

One of the rules for dance class
is that your hair needs to be pulled back.
This is so when they are twirling, their hair isn't in the dancers face.
Waverly likes her hair in a bun!

She was so sweet tonight with her little friend.
The two girls in her class are both named Carly,
and Wavy has taken up with both of them.

Still timid, but she's going through the new motions and even tumbled!

You Lookin' At Me Lookin' At You

It's the stare down...

Oh, how much fun we have together...

This week is brought to you by the letter.... F

We have been working so hard on our school work,
its been hard to remember to take lots of pictures!

This week featured the letter F,
so for dinner, we had French Fries!

Harlan likes French Fries too!

We learned how to write the letter F, and the lowercase f too!
We learned about the forest and what kind of animals live there,
like foxes.  We colored a big frog and then painted fishes.

It's been a Fantastic week!
