Just having fun

This group of kids are so fun!
Wavy likes to quietly play with her dolls or talking to grown-ups or draw.
While the others run wild...

Here you can see blurs that are
are Harlan and Shelby playing soldiers.
As Harlan ran by, I stopped him for a kiss.
Now he knows that soldiers always kiss their mommas!

Eventually, they do all settle down.  Usually in a pile
in Pappy's lap.

It's my party!

Wrapping up the birthday celebrations
is a party at Pappy & Nana's!

Waverly had special requests for streamers
to be hanging everywhere,
and instead of a cake,
she wanted cinnamon rolls.

Ask and ye shall receive!

Happy Birthday, Waverly!

Time truly does fly by.
It's hard to beleive that my little angel is 5 years old.
She has had my heart since I first thought of her.
Her smiles make every day a happier place.

Mamaw made her a barbie cake and cupcakes.

She still doesn't like the birthday song,
so we just tell her Happy Birthday and then she gets to blow out the candles
and make her wish.

And, not saying she's spoiled or anything,
but yes, a few more presents to celebrate!

First-world problems

Because we all bring technology to the bathroom, right?

Selfies before school

She was stylin' today in her
fancy pink dress, black stockings,
and neon shoes.

Goggles

He said he was wearing goggles.

Monsters Inc.

With the perfect expression of regret and sadness,
Waverly came walking by me and says,
"We lost 68 doors today, mom."
Confused, I asked, "How did you do that?"
She replied, "Kids just don't scare as easy as they used to."

And this is only one of a million reasons why I love this kid.

Smileyface Pizza!

I love being that mom.
I hope Wavy loves her silly lunches too!

Oh, the things kids say

Wavy, all sad and disheartened, says to me, "We lost 68 doors today, mom."
I reply, "What?  How did you do that?"
She shakes her head and says, "Kids just don't scare as easy as they used to."

I beleive I have a Disney fan in the family!

Birthday Favors!

Thanks to Pinterest,
I'm earning major mom points with
party favors for Waverly's friends at school and daycare.

Glow sticks, to make her birthday bright!

Bubbles from the birthday girl!

And crazy straws!  Sip, sip, hurray!

Babies in Boxes!

There's nothing more entertaining
than a cardboard box.

We've decorated them,
and made them into battle ships!

And then played pirates!

H was here

I love finding trucks in the fridge.
Harlan must have traded me the truck for a yogurt.

Stop and smell the roses

No one can say she doesn't stop to smell the roses!
She even carries the petals around with her.
Look, mom!

I learned a new trick!

Things that go vroom

Oh, I didn't mean the kids.
The trucks go vroom too.

Snow Daze

One thing about all this snow..
it's breathtakingly beautiful!

Even Harley thinks so!

Since we had so much snow available,
I thought it'd be fun for a little snow painting!

Harlan & Wavy
thought it was a blast to "paint" the snow
with colored water.

I gave them paint brushes
and medicine droppers so they could
try different painting methods.

They were quite studious in their tasks...

We even experimented with mixing colors
to make new colors.

We sure know how to celebrate tons of snow!

Lazy Days

Snow days are the best for cuddly jammies
and pancakes!

and naps!

And drawing...
or in this case, practicing writing your name...

Or playing video games on the ipad...
while chiling in your robe...

Ok, so we weren't lazy quite all day....

We did clean Wavy's room, at least.
Happy Snow Days!

Back to reality

What's the best thing to have when returning from the beach?
SNOW!

Good thing we love snow as much as the sun!

Charlie & Mandy have had a blast!
It's deeper than their little legs
so they immediately sink.  So fun to watch them play!

And what's the best snow-day snack?

Snow cream!
I like to add flavored coffee creamer to mine,
and of course,
sprinkles!

Heading Home

More airport fun on the way home!

I've found my luggage!

Harlan will miss the palm trees...
as we were riding to the airport, he exclaimed,
"These trees are jacked up!"

Wavy's ready to fly!

And Harlan is ready to nap!

One last vacation selfie!

We hope you enjoyed hearing about our big trip!

Goodbye Gators!

Of course the kids had to say their goodbyes
to the gators!

Harlan even gave it a big ol kiss!

It's Dinner Time!

In this family, we love to eat!

Especially when on vacation!
We loved this Denny's with a great menu.
The kids had cupcake cups for their drinks and we get to take those home.
The food was EXCELLENT!

And these two kids are adorable coloring together!

Seeing the Ocean

The first look at that big, blue ocean is breathtaking.

It was chilly, but that didn't stop us from having a blast!

Harlan thought he'd show the
waves his ninja moves!

We followed footsteps in the sand...

Waverly & I would run up to the waves...

then try to guess when we should run
back before the waves could reach us!

Harlan found a shovel and tried his hand at shoveling the sand!

But then decided he'd rather run around, too!

We truly enjoyed our time at Daytona Beach!
It was quiet, relaxing, and beautiful,
even with the chill in the air!
