Growing Up

Today our little girl turned five months old. She is growing up so fast! She is such a delight and we enjoy every moment with her.

Content on the ride to day care. Ready for her day!
Waverly is learning all kinds of new things and perfecting her old tricks as well. She tends to learn something, get it right, and then discard it as if she were saying, that's nothing new. Now when she rolls over, she fusses to be put back on her tummy. She likes to turn in circles on her tummy and is trying to scoot and push with her feet to get around. She will be mobile before we know it.
Playing with new toys. Thanks, Mamaw!

Happy Girl

Waverly is almost always in a great mood. Just a little smile from you can bring about the biggest grins and giggles from her. She is learning how to make new noises too. From sounding like a boat by blowing air over her lips to sounds of a horse clip-clopping with a click of her tongue, she is becoming a very vocal little girl. Her favorite thing to do is shriek in delight. Mommy and Daddy watch her more than tv; she puts on the best show.
Where's Eyeore?

Listening to Daddy's story
Waverly LOVES her Daddy right now, especially. She is becoming quite spoiled to him and her eyes just light up when he enters a room. She loves to play with his hat and always reaches out for him to hold her. It just warms my heart to see them together.

Waverly with Papaw
Papaw has a hug for Waverly on her 5 month old day. You should see his smile whenever he sees this little girl. She's something special!
That's my girl, pushing the remote buttons.

My monkey jumping on the bed.

Hi Mommy! I'm trying very hard to sit up on my own.
I just get carried away trying to rock myself.

Hi Daddy! More pictures?

Playing Peek-a- Boo

Waverly not only understands the rules, but loves to play peek-a-boo. She is such a hoot, laying her head down or pulling the covers over her face just to hear you say in a sing-song voice,
I see you!

Loving every minute of it!

Sunny Days

It has been a wonderfully warm weekend! Since the heat is nice but a bit much, we have spent the weekend tryng to keep cool!

On Firday night, Waverly spent some time with Mamaw and Papaw. She was sleeping so well when we picked her up that she didn't even wake up when we brought her home and put her to bed. She had a big night on the town, after dinner with us all and then playing with her grandparents.

On Saturday, Waverly and I went to the library. This time, she was wide awake and enjoyed our library visit. She helped me choose some books for her to "read".

"Reading"

So much fun!

How cute am I?

We read a few books while at the library, enjoying the cool air conditioning as well, and then checked out with a whole bag full of new things to read and look at. Waverly does very well when she is read too, paying attention and trying to help turn the pages. She's going to be one smart cookie!

Later on, it was lots of tummy time and floor play. We mostly stayed inside because it was so hot this weekend. Waverly is going to be learning to crawl soon. She is perfecting turning in circles and loves her tummy time. When she rolls over to her back, she will fuss until you place her back on her tummy. She is so much fun!

Poor Axel looks jealous!

Waverly loves Crissy and Axel so much.
She gets so tickled when they pay attention to her.
She will often yell at them until they come over to lick her hand!

A Cuddle for Mommy on Sunday night, after a bath.

After dinner at Mamaw and Papaw's, Waverly had some play time in her walker and then we went home for night time. She had a fun time in the tub, or should I say sink, and then it was cuddles with Mommy before nodding off to dreamland.

My Water Baby

Waverly enjoyed her bath last night! Here are some photos from her fun in the tub - or should I say sink?

Patiently waiting - C'mon Mommy, its bath time!

Tasting the water... Adorably hilarious.

Pretty toes...

Getting the srub down.

Hi Daddy!

Whee!

Hahaha!

All clean! Where's my towel?

Spinnin' Round

What a great weekend! Saturday morning, Waverly and I started out bright and early. We got up and ready and then it was off to Mamaw Gail's house. We had a yard sale all planned, so we didn't let the morning sprinkles of rain deter us. Once everything was set up, the people came trickling in. Waverly cashed out with $60! Since she is growing out of her clothes so fast, we'll turn right around and buy some new outfits for her with the yard sale money!

We had a nice time visiting with Mamaw Gail, Gary and Aunt Phyllis. Waverly took a little nap and then woke up for more play time! While cooling off in the air conditioning, Waverly learned a new trick! My mom and I were just visiting and playing with Waverly and she started working her way around on her tummy. She just started to turn and spin, excited that she was moving. What a strong little girl! It wasn't but a few minutes before she had made a complete circle. We are so proud of her!

Gary spending some time with the Harley girl!

Sunday was wonderful. Waverly and I spent the whole day together, playing and napping. Anxious to perfect her new trick, Waverly had lots of tummy time. She likes to spin around and see all her different toys. She has also learned that she can kick her ball and that will make it light up and make sound just like when she hits it. What a smart kiddo - spacial awareness already!

New tricks tire me out!

Playing with Daddy.

We had dinner with Mamaw and Papaw, where Waverly ate her cereal like a big girl and then played in her walker. She can really get around now. She will walk backward and forward in her walker. It wont be long before we have to child-proof the house.

My little cutie - she likes her hat!
This morning, Waverly was all smiles and sunshine. She woke up on her own and was so happy to see her Mommy. We even had a few minutes to spare, so we sang a song and then watched cartoons. What a way to start off a Monday!

Cute Stuff

Waverly is changing so much every day. She is learning all kinds of new things and is growing like a weed. I had just bought the cute outfit with strawberries, and even though its size 6-9 months, it is already a little snug! She is adorable in anything though.

Learning new sounds I can make, like a boat!

Rockin' in my new hat

Waverly loves to laugh. She's a little ticklish and we take full advantage of that just to hear her laugh like a tinkling bell. She is such a happy child, always smiling and willing to try new things.

Got my shades, let's go!

Little Bit Country

On Saturday, Daddy, Mommy and Waverly went to Irvin, KY to visit Dean's Aunt and Uncle and family. They own a pay lake there, so we loaded up the fishin' gear and were off! The mountains were so pretty around there.

Waverly's Great-Grandmother
Waverly had a great time. It was a nice day, though still hot. She got to meet lots of new family members and enjoyed walking around the lake with her Papaw. There's nothing like good times on a lake, with good food and good company!

Mamaw Jean giving Waverly her first drink of water,
with Hannah, Waverly's 2nd Cousin.
There were several children there, but none took up with Waverly like Hannah did! She followed anyone who was carrying Waverly. She loved that those baby toe nails were painted bright orange!
Hannah, Jacob, and Noah have grown so much since we last seen them (several years!). It is just amazing how time flies. Can't wait for the next trip!

All's Well at the Well Check

Today Waverly had an appointment at the pediatrician's office for her 4-month-old well check. We were all really anxious to learn how our little girl is doing. She received a perfect report!

Lauging at my nurse!
Our chunky monkey weighed in at 16 pounds, 2 ounces! She's in the 90th percentile in regards to weight and Dr. Chase was really happy about it. She is 23 5/8 inches long and her head measures 16 1/2 inches around. She is right on track!

Showing Dr. Chase my foot.

Playing hard while Mommy talks to the doctor.

Dr. Chase was wonderful. He examined Waverly and announced that all is well. We talked about her feeding and sleep schedules, her stuffy nose and development milestones. Dr. Chase advised that we only give Waverly a little bit of cereal mixed with her milk, especially since she still spits up often. We can start giving her up to 3 ounces of nursury water a day, though, which is great because I often think she is thirsty instead of hungry. Her stuffy nose isn't any better with the Clarinex previously prescribed, so we are no longer giving that medication and will be using some nose spray. Waverly is rolling over and sleeping through the night, so Dr. Chase was happy about that. Waverly was pronounced perfect!

Up next were those nasty shots again. This time, Mommy was better prepared for what we were getting into. Waverly had a little dose of infant (generic) tylenol before going in to the office. She was a big girl during her two shots (DTaP and Polio, Hib, and Prevnar), one in each thigh, and then she drank her Rotavirus shot. After just a second of being fussy, she was my happy girl full of smiles again.

Waverly's Snoopy Band-Aids
Waverly took a little nap and then was mostly in a good mood the rest of the evening. She had another dose of tylenol and a warm bath. We also did lots of exercises for those chubby legs, just to work the knots out where the shots were given. She was a real trooper all day!

Fresh and Clean
