Co-Workers

Today, Mommy had a little company at the office...

Wavy made a new friend, too!
Gracie came with her Nana to the office for awhile and the
girls had a great time playing together!

Welcome back to dance!

It's time to
DANCE!

Wavy is happy that it's time to begin a new year of dance!
She's taking a combination ballet and tap class this year.
It was a great first day back!

Build & Grow

Did you know that Lowe's
hosts Build & Grow workshops?
It's free and fun!

The kids got all decked out in
work aprons and safety goggles!

And then they got right to work!

Today the kids were building toys based on a movie,
that honestly we haven't seen, called Aliens vs. Monsters.
It didn't matter that it was unfamiliar,
we had a blast anyway!

As you can tell, all this hammering and applying stickers is
hard work.  Harlan had to take a mid-work nap.

The best things aren't bought...

With some leftover foam poster board,
and a metallic marker,
I made Harlan a parking lot.

He thought this was awesome and needed a car for each numbered parking spot!

(Plus, we learned some counting while playing!)

With the other half of the poster board,
I made for Wavy a place setting.
So she immediately got out all her dishes and
we had a tea party!

Someday's, it's just the little things....

Good morning!

I'm fairly certain that both kids know that I think it is so sweet
when they hold hands in the car.  But, they aim to please!

Alice in Wonderland

The time has finally come for our Alice in Wonderland party!
I've put a lot of work into the planning and preparation for this play date,
and we are super excited that its finally here!

We made lots of decorations!
Yes, that's right, this super mom can draw!
The kids have enjoyed a whole summer of arts and crafts,
plays, books and, of course, the movie, all
about Alice in Wonderland.

We had lots of photo props!
The kids loved having huge picture frames to take their picture in!

A few of our friends came and it was a great day to play!

.

Of course, we had to paint the roses red!

And inside, we had tea cup races and played tea cup towers!

Even the little ones had fun!

We had "Mad Hatter" pancakes with every kind of topping imaginable
(whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate chips!) and "White Rabbit"
cupcakes.  We even had "March Hare's Tea or Coffee" and  "Wonderland" water.

It was a wonderful time in our own wonderland!

Off with her head!

Alice should have picked a better flamingo...
though I guess the cards were never in her favor.

But our flamingos are awesome!
In preparation for a summer play date,
I have been searching everywhere for pink flamingo yard ornaments.
I finally stopped at a neighbors house and asked to buy his, right out of his very yard!
He sold them to me for a whopping $2, after checking with the missus first (a smart man indeed).

Be careful around crocodiles

Wisdom from the 2 year old...

"A crocodile bit my finger and that's why you
have to be careful around baby crocodiles."

Safety First!

This is what took Wavy so long to make it into daycare this morning...
She had to buckle in all her babies first.

Hoo's cute?

We have just found press-on nails.
She loves them!

I can't decide if the nails are cute,
or cuter because of her sweet smile!

Birthdays Galore!

Mamaw Jean's birthday is August 1st and
Papaw's birthday is August 3rd!
Or vice versa.... it's easy to stay confused!
So, they always celebrate on August 2nd!

Harlan and Wavy made cupcakes!
They chose the most vibrant blue cake mix and then neon orange icing.
But, the sprinkles were their favorite part!

To celebrate, we all had dinner together.
Harlan borrowed Papaw's hat....

He makes a cute little gangster.

Cutest hug ever!

Can I play?

Daddy and Papaw can't work on the backhoe or bulldozer without
a full audience, and a jealous one at that.

Please?

A little comfort from sissy....

And finally!  He gets to play!

Monkeys & Bananas

He's my favorite ape!
