Top Baby Blogs!

Since beginning to blog in 2009, I have become so addicted to the blog scene.  Now, I'm not the most techy mom out there, nor the most creative.  But I am proud of our little blog and so thankful that people care enough to check out what we've been up to.
Now for our big news...
We've been accepted on Top Baby Blogs!

Just a note, I don't get any rewards or prizes.  I do get a nice atta-girl though and those are always nice.  Hopefully, the exposure will result in more readers and more followers.
How fun!

Just Keep Swimming!

This Memorial Day weekend passed by so quickly!  Before we even knew it, Monday was here.  Since Waverly enjoyed swimming so much, Papaw Dean got her a big pink swimming pool!  She had a blast all day playing in the pool and hanging out on the deck.  Hey, no complaints from Mom about this!
This was first thing Monday morning!
She'd barely finished her breakfast when she discovered her pool and hopped right in!

When it was finally time to take a break from all the swimming, we watched our favorite show (Baby Signing Time!) and played inside.  It was horribly hot all day long!

A little later that afternoon...
Waverly couldn't wait to get back in the pool!  She wouldn't even slow down to put her swim suit back on!  She just hopped right back in, ready to splash!

Splish Splash!!!That's my girl!  Sweet and Rotten, all at the same time!

At the park!

Mamaw and Gary went camping over the holiday weekend and invited Waverly and I to visit!

They like to take the RV and go camping.  At this campground, there was a pond to go fishing, a playground, and a big swimming pool.
Waverly liked playing the corn whole game, though she made up her own rules.
She thought the boards made an excellent slide!

Later, she used the bean bags to play toss with Gary!  They had so much fun!

 Again, Again!

Mamaw Gail got to see all the toys Waverly plays with in the car.  Apparently, they were much more interesting to play with outside!

While we were visiting, Mamaw and I discovered that Waverly has a new tooth!  Tooth #9 has broken ground and is working its way into posistion.  #10 isn't too far behind, with just a tiny point poking through!  Both are upper teeth toward the back of her mouth.  Waverly's been so good that I didn't even know she had a new tooth!

After having snack (a home-made lemon poppy seed muffin - yum!),
we went to the playground.  Waverly's favorite thing to do is swing.

She's not the least bit chicken, either!  The higher she swings, the more that girl giggles!
It was a great day, but after all this fun, we were ready for a nap!  More later!

"Liv"-in' for Fishin'

Happy Birthday, Liv!

                                           Liv & Waverly

Saturday, Waverly and I went to Cynthiana for her friend Liv's first birthday party!  Her mommy had planned a big luau!  There were lei's and colorful bubbles to play with.  Even the fishies and duckies in the pool were wearing hula shirts!  So many of Liv's friends and family were there.  Liv had a great birthday party and was so adorable in her little hula skirt!

Waverly spent almost the whole day in the pool.  It was her first time ever being in a swimming pool and she just loved it!

She loved gathering the fishies and duckies that were in the water!

And then she had to show Mommy the sign language for "fish"!

So cute!
Those two little girls are something sweet, that's for sure! We look forward to some play dates with Liv soon!

Shopping with Mommy

On Friday, Waverly and I went out shopping!
Of course, we were just getting groceries for the weekend, but it still counts as shopping!

We had to go to two different stores to get everything on our list.  Waverly was up for the challenge!

Usually, Waverly is confined to the top seat in the buggy.  Since the store was mostly empty today, I let her help fill the cart!  She really liked pushing the heavy cart around (and into others' buggies!).

I'm a big girl now!
And pretty good at this shopping thing! Ha!
Watch out, Dad, your wallet is about to take a hit!

Running off?  I don't think so!  Mom knows just what to do with you...

Waverly got a free ride to the car courtesy of our buggy!
She liked looking in all the grocery bags for snacks, and giggling all the way to the truck!
Can't wait for our next shopping trip - this was fun!

Have a seat...

...and stay awhile!
Waverly loves her little new rocking chair!
She is so tickled to hang out on the deck and rock awhile.

It was a little windy yesterday and I just love Waverly's reaction when the wind ruffles her hair.  She smiles a little smile, trying to figure it out!
Waverly has a new purple lounge chair, too.  She thought that was fun to climb and crawl all over.  This little family sure will be glad when the storms slow down so we can spend time outside on the deck!

Packin' on the Pounds!

Baby Bean update!

Mommy had a doctor's appointment this morning to check in on Baby Bean!  Things are going well and there's not a whole lot to report.  Mommy's doctor is Dr. Ashmun, who is in the same practice that Dr. Bain was.  We will miss Dr. Bain since she moved to Florida, but Dr. Ashmun is great!

We had a little history quiz, where Mommy had to remember pounds, dates, measurements and medications from the pregnancy and Waverly's birth.  Mommy brain has definitely kicked in!

For round 2, Mommy's pre-pregnancy weight is 20 lbs lighter than the pre-pregnancy weight with Waverly! (Go Mom!)  However, we're just shy of ten weeks and Mommy has gained 10 lbs already!  I attribute the extreme heftiness to taco cravings and weaning Waverly.  Since I'm no longer nursing, I'll have to eat less!

We listened for Baby Bean's heart beat on the monitor, but he/she was playing shy today.  Its still so early to be able to hear it so I was told not to worry the least little bit.

The good doctor said that the aches and pains are normal and nothing to worry about, as is all the snoozing I want to do.  Otherwise, everything is looking great so far!

Baby Bean is now roughly the size of a green olive!

Awww, isn't sweet?

Stay tuned!

My friend Samantha over at Mommy to A Princess was so sweet to give us a Blogger Award!

(Ok, ok, I'll let you clap!)

So, in honor of our favorite blog girls... I would like to present this award to the following...

(drum roll, please...)

Well, of course I want to give Samantha a Favorite Blog girl Award, too!
I check her blog often to catch up on what Little Miss Roxy has been doing. Roxy is one of Waverly's best friends. Waverly loves to see Roxy's pictures up on the monitor when we look at their blog. Our little girls are so much fun!

Cynthia at My Forever Family

Cynthia has two wonderful little girls. She stays busy all the time, but I love when she does have a few minutes to post about what her forever family has been up to!

Allison at Motherhood, WTF?

I don't actually know Allison, but I stumbled across her blog some time ago and I think its pretty great. She tells it like it is and is simply hilarious.

Now... Applause, please!

Or, as I used to say when I was too little to say 'clap' correctly, "Clam, everybody, Clam!"

Like your award? The rules are simple. Acknowledge receipt of the award in a post and be sure to link back to me. Pass the award on to three blog girls that you love to read. Post the award on your blog if you want.

Visiting Elli

It was actually a really busy weekend that included a visit to cousin Katie's house, too.

Mommy and Waverly just had to go see baby Benelli and see how they were doing.

Isn't she just the sweetest?

Ooo's and Awww's welcome.

The little family is doing well. Both mom and baby are healthy and happy. Elli was in a great mood, relaxing and smiling at us.

Since Waverly is going to be a big sister, I was anxious to see her reaction to a newborn.

It always takes her a few minutes to get used to being somewhere new, but after a little bit of hanging out, she said "Hi, Baby!". She was really interested in the Elli's bottle and wanted to give it to her. At least she's into sharing!

Check out that squishy face! I love it!

Waverly was happy to see Aunt Angie and the girls, too.
She was super excited over her new couch and kept bouncing around on it and showing everyone how to take a nap! So silly!

We had a great visit and can't wait to see Elli again soon!

Driving Around...

Waverly was Daddy's Girl this past weekend!

They did all kinds of stuff together.

She loved riding on the tractor with Daddy!

Even pretending to drive!!!

Later, Mommy and Waverly went to the truck tug to see Daddy.

(Yes, literally a tug-of-war between two trucks!)

Like this!

We had lots of fun visiting with some friends, eating happy meals and drinking juice, and walking around. Waverly loved seeing the ducks at the nearby pond.

She did really well with the loud trucks, too! Sometimes Mommy covered her ears, but otherwise, she loved it!

Daddy even let Waverly "test drive" his tuggin' truck!

What fun that was!!!

Mommy and Waverly left just in time - not ten minutes later there was a big downpour! Daddy didn't get to tug because of the rain, but he will make up for it next weekend!

It's Baby Signing Time!

It's been awhile since I had watched the baby sign language movie with Waverly. She watches it most days at Nana Pam's, who told me how much Waverly loves it. So, this past weekend, I popped it in the ol' DVD player instead of the usual Elmo video.

And what a reaction I got!

Waverly could barely contain herself she was so excited!

She immediately took a seat on her couch, only to bounce up and down as the show came on.

She is doing the sign for baby here.

She can sign "Baby Signing Time" along with the introduction song. I was amazed!

No longer able to sit down, Waverly had to jump up and down while doing all her signs!

Here is she is mid-way through signing "cracker".
Poor thing, she had been signing cracker to me for at least a week. Only, I didn't know that meant cracker!

She was really focused on her show.
I was super-impressed at how well she was doing the signs!

"Eat"

A sign of her own invention? Cute, none-the-less!

"Dog"

"More"

Waverly can also do signs for the animals fish, cat, horse and birds.

She can sign momma and dada, with encouragement, since those are a little more difficult.

She loves to sign cereal, cracker, baby, eat, more, milk and juice.

I see more signing in our future, that's for sure!

Just a Chat!

Waverly is all about talking!

She is always jibber jabbering away about something. Of course, she has her favorite words that she likes to repeat, "Hi, Baby" being one of them! Here is a little video of our 'conversation'.

As you can tell, I clearly ended the talk too fast by asking her to say "Night, Night"! Other new words (and some old words she's perfecting!) are ball, socks, shoes, shirt, mouth, teeth, hair, knee, toes, dog, kitty cat, green bean, cheese, three, hello, sheep, No No No, and fish. I'm sure there are many more I am forgetting. She also knows lots of animal sounds! I can't wait to get that on video!

Ketchup Kisses

Yesterday, Waverly went with Mommy to have lunch! I had a half day off work so we got to spend some extra Mommy-and-me time.

We met Aunt Philly at Frishes for lunch. Waverly was all dolled up for our day out.

Waverly has mastered drinking from a straw now.
She really likes to take the straw out of the cup though, so beware of flying water droplets!

Excited for some food!

Waverly ate all of her scrambled egg and then a lot of french fries!

Her favorite thing to do is dip them in ketchup and then lick all the ketchup off.

No sharing allowed here!

With a big mouth full...

Waverly gave Aunt Philly some ketchup kisses before we left.

I don't think she cared about all that ketchup one bit!
