Little Trees

Waverly tried out broccoli for the first time! Mommy told her they were yummy little trees. Wavy loved them! Now she asks for little trees all the time.

Our First Date

...with two kids, that is!  Mamaw Jean offered to babysit, so Mommy and Daddy hit the town!

We enjoyed a great steak dinner, a cold beer, and a fun movie!

Sharing Teddy

Waverly thought Harlan might get lonely during his nap... So she gave him her teddy to sleep with. This is how I found them. Such sweet babies!

Almost 2!

Waverly is 23 months old! How can time go so quickly? She is almost two!!!

Wavy says and does the cutest things! She has an outstanding vocabulary and speaks in complete sentences all the time. She tells Mommy at night night that "Its dark in here!". She grabs Daddy by the hand and pulls him to her room to play, saying, "C'mon Daddy!".

Wavy has also started in ballet! She loves dancing. She practices being a ballerina. She is doing well taking instructions from Miss Kelsey. Mamaw Jean takes Wavy to her practices and reminds her how to do her moves during the week. Wavy rocks her little ballerina outfit too!

Wavy is learning to count and her ABC's. She knows all if her shapes and colors, and still loves to do any kind of projects and art work.

I do believe my little girl is going to be a bit country! She loves to be outside, climbing trees, petting cows and riding four wheelers! She can't wait for warmer weather.

Wavy's 2nd birthday is fast approaching. We've got a big day planned for her party and a Mommy and Me day for her actual birthday. I can't believe she's almost two!!!

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Mommy turned 28 this year!

Waverly made this beautiful card for Mommy on her birthday!

She loves all her crafts.  Mommy keeps almost all of the projects Waverly makes, especially the birthday cards and special holiday crafts. 

Daddy brought home Mommy some pretty flowers and cupcakes!  We had dinner at Mamaw and Papaw's house, with a yummy cake for desert!

Both babies were on ood behavior just for Mommy!  Harlan took a little nap...

And Waverly sang Mommy a song.

She had fun pretending the watering can was her music instrument.  Such an imagination!

Cuttin' Up

Waverly got another hair cut!

Waverly's hair has grown so long! We want to keep the length on it, but she needed a little trim to help it grow.  We went to the hair salon and Waverly did so well.  She held super still while the back was trimmed.  While her bangs were being cut, she held onto mommy (and brother!). 

All Dressed Up

Waverly found her "pretty dress" and insisted she wear it, pajamas and all!

I'm so excited that she's ready to play dress up!

Waverly asks for her "pretty dress" now all the time.  She refuses to take it off unless bribed with promises of a fun bath.  She also helps Mommy pick out her outfit each day.  She loves any dress or shirt that has pockets.  She says, "I need a tissue!" and then carries it in her pocket all day. 

Best Friends

Waverly and Harlan are the best of friends.

Tummy Time times Two!

Waverly taught Harlan how to enjoy tummy time!  He loves to be on his tummy. 

Counting 'brudder's" toes...

Waverly has been learning her numbers by counting brother's toes.  She calls Harlan "brudder" which is adorable!

1 Month Old

Hard to believe, but my baby boy is 1 month old!

Harlan is amazing.  He is adorable, as everyone can tell.  He is very expressionate!  He will make the cutest faces.  He looks puzzled while trying to figure out a new noises, he smiles in response to adult silliness, and he is great at screaming when he wants or needs something! 

Harlan likes to look and listen to toys, which is great because his big sis loves to play with him!

Harlan's favorite past time?  Catching a wink...

Mommy might be a little sleep deprived, but Harlan takes a snooze whenever he pleases.  He is working towards sleeping longer at night time, but he needs those naps during the day too!

Harlan is becoming more and more alert though.  He likes looking at his surroundings and checking things out.  He will study the baby show on tv and you can tell he is thinking about what those animals are doing and what not.  He does not like his car seat, but loves to be cuddled up close when held. 

Its hard to believe a month has already flown by.  Harlan is growing every day.  At the most recent doctor's visit, he weighed 11 pounds, 9 ounces!  He is so tall, too! 

Baby Harlan is wonderful.  We treasure the happy times!

My Horsey Has A Hat

Caught Waverly at play in her room one morning...

She was having an intense conversation with her rocking horse.  It went something like this:

Waverly: "Horsey, that's my hat!"

Horsey does not reply.

Waverly: "Horsey, I say my hat!"

Waverly: "Why you want hat?  You inside.  It no cold in here."

Horsey, again, does not reply.

Waverly: "Share, Horsey!"

Finding her horse lacking in return conversation, Waverly eventually ended the chat by letting Horsey have his way and keep her hat. 

Table for Four

We successfully enjoyed a meal out a few days ago!  The first time, our little family went to dinner with Mamaw and Papaw.  The extra hands ensured we all got to eat!

Waverly discovered that she likes red bell peppers by stealing a slice from Mamaw's salad plate!  All in all, it was a good night out!

After feeling a bit cooped up in the house, we decided to have a family outing.  Just the four of us!  We went to a couple of stores, where Waverly ran all around picking out crafts and checking things out! 

Then we went to Cracker Barrel for dinner! 

Foreseeing a little trouble ahead, we opted to give Waverly a big treat by letting her watch Dora the Explorer during dinner.  She was really good and it was great for Mommy and Daddy to enjoy a little break over hot food. 

Waverly snuck a little sip of Daddy's pepsi, but Mommy caught them on camera!

Harlan was very good through dinner!  He slept the whole time, after getting his own tummy full.

It was a successful evening out... one that must be repeated! 

Goodnight Moon

Waverly still loves to read nbooks!  Now she gets to read to Mommy and Harlan every day. 

Her favorite book?  Goodnight Moon, of course!

Waverly loves the moon!  I wish I could be so excited over something I couldn't reach.  Anytime she gets to look outside, she looks for the moon.  Often, she will find it at dusk before I ever see it!

Accordingly, her favorite book has become Goodnight Moon.  We read it almost every day, and night!  Now she can read it to us.  She says "Goodnight bears and goodnight chairs", "Goodnight kittens and goodnight mittens", and "Goodnight moon". 

My favorite is the very end, when we say night night to each other.  "Goodnight Mommy" in that sweet little voice...

The grandparents left for a week's vacation in Vegas today! 

Before they took flight, though, they had to say bye to the little ones. 

Where'd Wavy Go?

Waverly loves to play in her "Wavy house", as she refers to her tent!  This morning, she found it hilarious that Papaw would throw the ball and shake her house around.  She laughed and laughed!

Meanwhile, Mamaw Jean was busy spoiling Harlan!  He was wide awkae and playing with rattles and toys for Mamaw. 

You're going bye-bye?  Noooooo!

Waverly and Harlan will sure miss Mamaw and Papaw this week.  Not to mention, Mommy and Daddy, who will miss them and their help with the kiddos!  Hope they have a great time, but hurry home!

Cute & Cozy

Little Harlan has been such a good baby...

when he wants to be!

Being thoughtful...

Harlan has a bit of colic, which has been trying for everyone!  After several visits to the doctor, Mommy has learned a few tricks to help make Harlan a happy baby.  He likes to be held a certain way, fed at a certain time, and he prefers certain fabrics over others.  He can be a fussy baby, but look how adorable!

Harlan looks so much like his Daddy!  He also favors Waverly more and more!  The kids are so sweet together.  Waverly is the first to check on her "brudder" if he cries. 

I must say, having two children under the age of two is trying, but I am a lucky mommy to have such wonderful babies!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

With Daddy's birthday quickly approaching, Waverly and I started working on projects! 

 She loves her arts and craft time, and any kind of 'project' is fine by her!  Our favorite thing to do is paint!  We definitely had to paint for Daddy's birthday!

 Her sweet little hand prints, with the special note to Daddy! 

"I'm as lucky as can be... the best Daddy in the world belongs to me!"

 Harlan was too little to paint, but he enjoyed a nice nap while we got ready for Daddy's party. 

 Waverly and I baked cupcakes for Daddy!  We even decorated with Reese's Pieces, because we love Daddy to pieces! 

 Harlan wanted to let Daddy know that he rocks!

 The whole family came for dinner at Mamaw and Papaw's.  Waverly had a blast playing, especially on the trampoline!  (Um, potty training well under way, hence the pant-less child running around!)

It's Raining On Me!

Waverly thinks she's a big girl now!  After NOT liking the bubbles in the tub, I asked her if she wanted to take a shower.  "Uh-huh", she said, and to our delight, she loved it! 

Waverly thought it was great to "lick the water" as the spray got close to her face.  She had a blast.  She also enjoyed playing with her new bath soap that foams.  Now its a daily game to get clean!

Little bro Harlan also likes his bath time...

He likes his water on the warm side, lest he get chilly.  He is usually calm and curious in the tub, often watching his big sis as she tries to 'help' Mommy. 

I love this reaction as I stopped spraying him long enough to get some soap! 

He likes to have his hair washed and a warm towel from the dryer.  Such good kiddos!
