That's how we roll...

Riding bikes,
with our helmets,
and of course, in our best dress!
That's how we roll!

Just laying around...

Watching his favorite tractor show!

Operation Big Kid

Hoping to encourage a happy transition to sleeping in their own rooms,
we redecorated the kids' rooms in designs of their choosing (from a pre-selected
collection) and bought new bedding.
We figured out a night-night routine,
and before we knew it, night one of "Operation Big Kid" was a go...

Both kids have always slept in my room.  I am an avid supporter of "do what works" for your family.  Co-sleeping was what worked for us and we've loved it!
Now that the kids are growing and the bed seems to be shrinking, it's time for them to move to their beds.
The hope is that they would start to put themselves to sleep without momma laying down with them for a couple hours every night.

So, night one...
We read books.  We have night-night snacks.
We go potty.
We tuck the kids in snug as a bug.
And then we tell them they have to stay in their rooms and go to sleep.

Well, it took a little bit of time.
There was some crying and some very persuasive arguments
("But you'll forget about me!!! ~ Wavy).
Harlan sat in the doorway of his room and stared at us with his angry eyes.

But, soon enough, both kids fell asleep!

Operation Big Kid has been a success!
Now we just have to stick with it!

Smiles are contagious

What a grin!
Wavy is always ready to offer a smile!

Or show you her favorite silly face!

Leprechauns are sneaky

That sneaky leprechaun left a trail of clovers in our house!

When the kids followed the path,
they found coins in their shoes!

 What a surprise!
They couldn't understand why the leprechaun would put
gold coins in their shoes.  I had to explain that he was playing a trick on them!
Now they call him the "sneaky" leprechaun!

What else did that sneaky leprechaun do?
Well, he turned our milk green!

They weren't so happy with that...
and they wouldn't drink it at all!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Look-it!

I can't quite recall what they were looking at...
probably Papaw mowing the yard.

Chicken Noodle Soup!

Harlan and I have to entertain ourselves while Sis is in dance class...

So we sometimes play peek-a-boo.
We are good at this game.

My favorite phrase from Harlan right now
is "Chicken Noodle Soup!".
The way he says it is so very adorable.
I ask him what his favorite food is all the time,
just to hear him say it!

Exhausted

This is what tired looks like.  He was so exhausted, he couldn't even manage to sit up and watch his night-night show before bed.  He just laid flat in the floor!

Monkeying Around

To celebrate Wavy's 4th birthday,
we had a party at Monkey Joe's!
It's basically a big place filled with bouncy slides and jumpalenes.
All of the kids had a blast!

The birthday girl going down the BIG slide!

H loved the tiny merry-go-round!

Giddy-up horsey!

Yep, it's a long way down!

But even little man can do it!

By the time we had cake,
Wavy had been playing too hard!  That's a very red face!
But she had so much fun!

Pappy's Crew

Pappy had 4 of the grandbabies all loaded up on the 4wheeler!

Cozy on the Couch

It really surprises me that with two couches and a love seat,
all in the living room, these two kiddos always choose to sit side-by-side.

Now, they aren't perfect and always lovey;
they are siblings after all.
But these little moments of being sweet brother and sister
to each other can really melt a momma's heart.

Silly Faces

What do you do while waiting at the doctor's office?
We practice our silly faces!

My Super Hero

Or she may have been playing Little Red Riding Hood here...
It's hard to tell the difference sometimes.

H was here

I found monster trucks in the fridge this morning...
Proof that H was here.

Monster Roars!

Our favorite kind of monsters are
Monster Trucks!

The kids were very excited!
We had our ear protectors on and we were ready for the big trucks to roar!

Cotton candy is the perfect snack!

And then the action began!

Both kiddos loved every minute of it,
but Harlan watched with rapt attention.

After the show, we asked Harlan if he liked the monster trucks.
He said no, and then explained that "they ran over my yellow car".
