Just alike...

Side by side,
sitting almost the same pose,
and smiling alike.

A Little Brownie

Waverly found my sash from when I was brownie and girl scout.
She was pleased to see all of the badges I'd earned!
I can't wait for her turn to be a little brownie!
Bring on the girl scout cookies!

Tiny Dancer

Its the first night of dance class!

Waverly donned her dance attire,
looking quite adorable in her leotard.

She did a little warm-up dancing before class.

Although a bit shy,
her first lesson went smoothly.
She found a friend in her teacher, Miss Raven.

She says, "I might smile next time".
My tiny dancer is going to be a great ballerina some day!

My Barbie Doll

Waverly finally consented to letting Momma fix her hair.
This is the first french braid, for both of us!

Sippin' Syrup

Both Wavy and Harlan
prefer to dip their pancakes in a small cup of syrup
rather than pour it on top of a stack of pancakes.

Harlan found the most efficient way to get to his syrup...
drinking it!

Pretty in Pj's

What a ham!
Waverly loves to be silly in pictures,
especially if I ask her to stand still for one.

But oh what a smile!

Dancing Shoes

We are getting ready to kick-off the dancing season!
This will be Waverly's second attempt at a dance class.
Now that she is a bit older, she will be participating at KPDA and learning the art of ballet!

First step, finding the perfect ballet shoe!
It was a great mommy-and-me day for shopping with my best girl.
We went to the big dance store.
The nice dancer helped us try on on ballet flats and Wavy loved the loose socks for trying on shoes.

Waverly is a bit shy when trying new things,
even shopping at a new store.
She did good picking out her shoes and letting the dancer adjust them.

We had fun browsing through all the dance outfits, tutus and bow bows.
With our purchase of new tights and pink ballet shoes,
we were excitedly awaiting our first dance class!

Repeating myself...

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times....
but never have I seen a pair of siblings that love each other so very much.

Without any encouragement,
they always choose to sit beside each other.
In play or just watching a movie,
they are never far apart.

What a blessing it is to have these little smiles in my life!

Tough and Tumble

Both Waverly and Harlan have just learned to
do a forward tumble.
They have had a blast tumbling every chance they get!

Synchronized Tumbling...
Is that an Olympic sport?

Pappy's Pals

Today we went to visit Nana Betty and Pappy Allen.
Its always so fun at their house.
We get to play in the playroom and outside,
and of course,
we love getting to see Tanner and Shelby!

Harlan's favorite toy is monster trucks.
Luckily, so is Tanner's, so they share well!

Wavy helped Nana in the kitchen,
mixing up some yummy fudge brownies!

The it was outside for some fishin' in the pond!
Wavy caught this HUGE fish all by herself!
Guess reelin' it in made her tired.

Pappy helped Harlan ride up the hill on a scooter!
By time to go, we were all tired after such a fun day!

My Big Girl Bed

Wavy has had a crib and a toddler bed,
but we enjoy co-sleeping so much that she has rarely slept alone.
Today, she gets her first real big kid bed!

Harlan helped Ppaw put together the frame...

while Wavy read the directions and supervised!

Of course, my little monkeys wanted to jump on the bed...

but then it was time to test it out!

Comfort with a smile!

Park n' Play

We had an excellent time with Aunt Philly at the park!

Today the kids decided to test their bravery
and climb up to the highest jungle gym and go down the biggest slide!

They had a little help from Cousin Lacie,
who showed them the way up and then helped them slide down.
She had a fun time too!

There were several different slides to try out
and they did every one of them!

Needless to say, we love going to play at the park!

Life can be a little messy...

Somedays it seems that our house is custom designed by toddlers.
There will be toys everywhere, blankets and pillows, puzzle pieces and books.
Yet, as long as we can find each other in the mess, we are just fine.

This week is brought to you by the letter... D

This week we learned all about the letter D.

We made a Dinosaur with a big 'D' for his body, and
a little upside-down and backwards 'd' for his head.
Then, we used 4 triangles since our number this week is the number 4!

Another night, we read a poem about dandelions.
Waverly loves dandelions and is always picking them outside.

We even made our own dandelions!
It was a Delightful week of learning!

First Tumbles

Harlan's first forward tumble!
He did it all on his own!

Bookworms

Smarts run in this family...

Harlan is a little smarty pants too!
He likes to sneak and play with Sissy's laptop.
He has his own, but of course, he likes hers better.

They are fairly good at sharing though.
They like to read together and play together.

This week is brought to you by the letter.... C

C is for cloud...

Ok, she got a little carried away there.

C is for Cereal...

C is for Cheerios!

And of course,
C is for Caterpillar!

Side-by-Side... Part 2

Part 2?
Ok, Part whatever.  They are always choosing to sit beside one another.

Sleepin' Sweeties

Tired of pictures of these little cuties?
Tough.

I'm told that not all siblings,
even those close in age,
are so ready to sit, play or sleep next to each other.

I treasure it now, just in case it doesn't last.

Welcome Angel Baby

I am very pleased to announce the birth of Ethan Jackson.
Aunt Heather, one of Mommy's dearest friends,
gave birth to our sweet Angel Baby just two short weeks ago!

Doesn't he have just the cutest squishy face while sleeping?

He has quite distinct features though,
and his expressions are very thoughtful.
He is going to be smart like his mom and dad!

Aunt Katie and I are simply smitten!
