Take a Nap!

Waverly has had a rough time the past couple of days while those new chompers are trying to break ground. Her gums are swollen and must be painful! She is finding ways to distract herself while teething though...

Waverly loves to pretend to take a nap!

Its very cute!

If you ask her to take a nap, she will lay down with her hands under her head and her little hiney up in the air!

This time she wanted a pillow!

Waverly had fun at Mamaw and Papaw's last night. She read a book to Papaw. Then she played with some toys.
It was a little rainy, but that didn't stop our little country gal!
She wanted to go outside, so she sat with Daddy for a little while in the porch swing.

Then, Papaw took her for a ride!

She had fun playing in the truck and playing peek-a-boo with Mommy through the window.
She had so much fun, that she wouldn't get out of the truck!
Papaw had to drive her all the way home (next door, mind you!).

Hopefully all those molars come in soon. In the meantime,
I'm sure Waverly will find some fun things to get into and keep her mind off teething!

Congratulations are in order!

The Lickliter Family would like to send our many congratulations to The McElroy Family on the addition of their new daughter!

Welcome Emery Michelle!

7 lbs 14 oz. 20 1/4 inches long

Mommy was so lucky to sneak in a visit and hold Emery. She is simply prescious!

Both Mom and baby are doing well! Waverly's friend Annie is excited to be a big sister! She took Emery's hairbow, but gave it right back! She is going to be a big helper, even volunteering to get a diaper for her baby. We are so happy for the McElroy's!

It's Official...

Our house is going to grow by 2 feet! Waverly is going to be a big sister!!!

On Tuesday morning, I took this test and it gave us the good news!

After an excited call to Daddy, I tried to get a doctor's appointment. They could only get me in on Wednesday at 1:00. It was a long wait to tell everyone!

After the official word, Dean and I decided to spread the news!

When I saw Waverly, I asked her what her favorite word was. She just looked at me with those beautiful big eyes. Her usual phrase is "Hi, Baby!", so I told her that we were expecting a baby! She just smiled and said, "Hi, Baby!"

If the calculations are correct, then we are about 8 weeks and 3 days along. We expect Baby #2 to arrive in early December. Waverly will be almost 22 months old! I'm sure she will be a wonderful big sister!

Hoppy Easter, Everyone!

Easter morning, Waverly and I made biscuits and gravy for Daddy. Then we all ate breakfast together.

We played awhile and then it was time to see what the Easter bunny brought!

The first thing Waverly saw was her tiny baby doll!

This kid is all about those babies! She said, "Hi, baby!" and ran right over to scoop it up for a big 'ol hug! Then she noticed the rest of the goodies!

She liked her books, hair bows, hat and bunny.

Plus some chocolate and some stickers!

Trying on my new hat!

In the early afternoon, Waverly and I went to visit Papaw Allen and Nana Betty.
The Easter bunny visited there, too! Waverly had lots of goodies, including a new chair and some rubberroos (see my blog at http://www.mommytricksandtips.blogspot.com/)! We ate tons of food and played and played.

Then it was time to hunt for some Easter eggs!

Tanner did great and filled up his SpongeBob SquarePants Easter basket!

Waverly did well, too!

She was only a little distracted by the chocolate kisses hidden in those eggs!

After tons of fun, Waverly took a much needed nap in the car!

I just love how she snuggled with her baby doll!

After sleeping off some sugar, we went to Papaw Dean and Mamaw Jean's house for Easter dinner. First off, Papaw Dean showed Waverly her Easter basket! The Easter bunny brought her a toy guitar and microphone, a cuddly bunny to hug, and a farm see-n-say!

Tuning up the guitar!

Oh me, oh my! I love to see-n-say!

Happy Easter, to all of our friends, family and blog followers!

We hope that you enjoyed all the fun and family times as much as we did!

Here comes Peter Cottontail...

Easter's on its way!

On Saturday, Waverly and I went to visit Mamaw Gail and Gary.

It was great to visit!

We had tons of food! Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans!

For desert, Mamaw made an Easter Bunny cake!

Yum, Yum!

Then it was time to decorate some Easter eggs!

Gary worked hard to color them so we wouldn't be all messy. He did a great job!

Then Mamaw and Waverly decorated the eggs with stickers!

Waverly was very serious about her sticker art.

She loved the Sesame Street stickers and putting Elmo and Cookie Monster on the Easter Eggs!

I've got to say, those are some pretty eggs!

Hunting for Easter Eggs took on new meaning this time around!

The first egg Waverly found had hair bows inside!

From then on, she didn't care much for gathering all the eggs, just trying to pry the nearest one open to see what inside!

She found hair bows (also known as "bow bows") and chocolate candies. She was delighted to open the pretty pink eggs to find money inside! Mommy put the change in her pocket, but Waverly gathered all the eggs that had $2 bills in them! She unfolded her money and put it right in her basket for safe keeping! (Later, we'll put it in her piggy bank for when she's older.)Waverly's Easter basket had lots of goodies inside!

There were suckers, an Easter book of animals, and a dancing chick that sings "Here comes Peter Cottontail..." Waverly loves this little dancing chick! She carried it everywhere and would dance along to the music!

(Picture to be uploaded later... Patience please!)

After a ride on the golf cart, Mommy, Waverly and Mamaw did some shopping! Just the girls! It was a blast!

Bunny Trails and Piggy Tails

Waverly's 1st Pigtails!

Yesterday, Waverly and her friends celebrated Easter a little early at Nana Pam's.

With loads of sweets, treats and a special happy meal lunch, it sure seemed like they had a good time! Waverly was still partying when we got home!

She was so pleased with her coloring books, stickers, bubbles, candies and easter eggs.
Egg?
What's in there?

She even got a little Easter purse!

And lots of candy!!!

Thanks to all for the Easter gifts. We hope you like your Easter duckies and Bunnies, too!

Happy Easter!

Happy Weekend!

What a busy weekend!

Waverly and I have been busy the past few days!

Last Thursday, we visited Aunt Angie for Lacie's birthday celebration!

The birthday girl was too busy with her trampoline for me to snag a picture, but I got one of Waverly playing with some toys!

Aunt Angie has been up in the attic finding baby things in anticipation of Miss Ellie's upcoming arrival! It could be any day now!

Mommy and Waverly spent some time at home this weekend. We took long naps and read lots of books together.

Here lately, Waverly has taken to climbing in her baby chair. She likes to bounce!

Silly girl!

Gold Fish, anyone?

On Saturday, Waverly and I went to the Easter Egg hunt with Roxy. On the way, Waverly wanted a snack. That little stinker managed to tear open a bag of gold fish! She was tickled with herself.... Saturday night, we had dinner with Daddy at Frishes. Waverly had fun coloring and she ate a good dinner, too! She had a whole scrambled egg, toast and a couple of Daddy's french fries!
Sunday morning, we began the day bright and early with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Waverly loves this cartoon! She dances and dances. She gets so excited when the Hot Dog song comes on!
We had a fun time with the laundry!

This was the sweetest load!

Later on Sunday night, Waverly visited Mamaw and Papaw. Daddy had went with them to Tennessee, so Waverly was very excited to see everyone.

She had so much fun wandering around the yard with Mamaw. They picked flowers and played peep-eye through the rails on the deck.

We'll be keeping an eye out so Waverly's head wont get stuck!

Waverly thought this was an excellent game!

Mamaw & Waverly sat on the stoop.

Waverly is all about stairs now. She likes to climb!

Then, it was off to the swing set with Papaw.

When it was time to come in, Mamaw showed Waverly a new toy!

How could you resist the tricycle?

It will be a little bit before Waverly is old enough (or tall enough!) to ride on her own, but she sure did have fun steering!
What a wild weekend!

Can't wait for the next one!

Hop, Hop, Little Easter Bunny

On Saturday, Waverly's bestie Roxy invited us to her church for an Easter Egg Hunt!

Waverly was so excited to see her friend!

After an Easter snack of cupcakes and carrots, Waverly and Roxy were ready to hunt for Easter Eggs! Since it was a chilly afternoon, the hunt took place inside the chapel.

All the kiddos were excited! As soon as they heard the word go, they were off and running! Waverly just took off too!

We've been practicing how to hunt for Easter eggs at home for a couple weeks now. Waverly loves to carry around her Elmo basket and collect her eggs. This was right up her alley!
When the Easter Bunny found an egg and gave it to Waverly, she was a little startled. She wasn't sure what to think about that big bunny!

Yay! I found some eggs!
Roxy found some eggs, too! She had a whole basket full!
Counting Eggs...
What's inside?

Stickers, Candy and little toys!

Samantha & Waverly with Samantha & Roxy

All the girls!

Roxy's Grandma had a lap full with both girls!

Roxy was so sweet to share her necklaces with Waverly!

We had such a great time at the Easter Egg Hunt!

Thanks, Samantha & Roxy, for inviting us along!
