His & Hers

The kids rooms are all finished and look great!

Waverly's room needed just a little refresher...like some touch-up paint and organziation.
She loves her room, right down to every last dot!
She wants to be picked up so she can touch all the polka dots and tell us that they are pink.

Waverly's room is home to most of her toys now, since we moved in her big toy chest and book shelf.  She has all her puzzles and drawings within her reach!
Mamaw Jean made Waverly some beautiful curtains that match her room just perfect!  You can also see the edge of the puzzle that Mamaw Gail did for Waverly.  (Excuse the poor lighting in this picture...)
Harlan's room was previously a guest room used for storage.  Now its all ready for him!
Thanks to the family for painting, we have now decorated his room and organized his things.

Mamaw Jean made some curtains for Harlan's room, too!
I am very pleased with how the kids' rooms are!  I love how everything matches, but in his and her colors of pink or blue.  I adore the little matching piggy banks and their names on the wall, curtesy of Daddy.  Its the little things like this that make a house into a home...

Checkin' In

Poor Waverly has had a diaper rash for a couple weeks and it just wasn't getting much better!
Luckily, it didn't seem to bother her or itch or anything.  Still, we thought it was time to take her in for a little look-see and make sure everything was ok.

Since Waverly wasn't technically sick this time, we waited for our turn in the well baby side of the clinic.  Waverly loved the wall art!

She just had to show Mommy where all of the fish were, and tell me all their colors, too!

I think our little adventurer thought we might have been at an aquarium... but to her dismay, it was just the doctor's office.  She wasn't very happy to be weighed this time, but she did settle down to play Bee, Bee, Bumblebee with Mommy as we waited for the doctor.  She was a good girl for the doctor, who decided that Waverly has a bit of eczema!  A little A&D ointment and she should be just fine.  After she was given a clean bill of health, we stopped for some fry-fries and it was homeward bound for us!

I love you...

In our family, there is always a project of some kind we are busy with!
Whether Daddy is working on trucks or building a rock crawler buggy, he is always into something.  Mommy prefers projects like quilting, reading a new book series and occasionally some artsy things, especially at Christmas.  Waverly takes after us both, always happiest when she is busy painting or getting glue everywhere!

A project that we just finished is one of my favorites!
Since our bed is custom made (ahem, one of Daddy's projects!), we don't have a headboard or anything.  In place of that, we decided to do this...

We had the lettering made and its just perfect!  I love the phrasing as much as the artistic touch of the different fonts and the intertwined hearts!

Waverly loves the hearts, too!  She can just reach them by standing on our bed.  She tries to "climb" up the wall now to read the letters.  She is such a hoot!
This project didn't need much involvement on our parts, since we had the lettering done and then just applied it to the wall, but it is one of my favorite projects.  It reminds us to always say I love you, or in Waverly's case, shout "yoooo-uuuuu" really loud to each other!

All Lit Up

Over the long weekend, Daddy and Mommy put up the Christmas tree.
We wanted it to be ready for Waverly in the morning, so Saturday night, we fluffed and added some of the decorations.

Waverly was so surprised when she woke up!

She immediately asked for the lights to be turned on.  She said the tree was "pretty"!

Mommy had saved several ornaments for Waverly to put on the tree.  Of course, she wanted to help decorate!

She was very careful with the ornaments (plastic, of course!) and she would choose just the right spot to place it on the tree.

Waverly would reach up high to spread the decorations all about!

We think our little tree turned out to be quite pretty this year!  It had been several years since Mommy had decorated in red, and the added touches of white, silver and gold brought out the holiday spirit even more!  We are so excited that Waverly loved the tree!

Now every morning and every evening, Waverly asks for the tree to be lit up!  She will grab my hand and say "Lights! Lights!".
We are also tickled to say that after 9 years of asking, Daddy finally agreed to put Christmas lights up outside.  We are now just as tacky as everyone else, and we love it!  Waverly was very excited to see the lights on the porch change colors.  Its going to be a wonderful holiday!

36 Weeks & Counting

Today marks 36 weeks!

That's by the doctor's count, of course. Mommy is counting a couple weeks ahead.
The picture shows Mommy when she was 36 weeks along with Waverly compared to today at 36 weeks with Harlan.

All seems well, though Baby Harlan is certainly running out of room.  We have a doctor's appointment scheduled for this Thursday so we can check in on the wee one!  Can't wait!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Saturday, Waverly and I went to Pappy Allen's and Nana Betty's house for the annual "Putting up the Christmas Tree" party!

Pappy always has the tree up and the lights on, ready and waiting for decorations!

Waverly was very excited to see the tree!  She ran towards it and said "Pretty!".

Not only did we get to see lots of family, but all of Waverly's little friends came over to help decorate the tree!  She was thrilled to play with Tanner, Garrett and Annie!

Even little Emery was able to help decorate!

Pappy helped Waverly choose her decorations and place them on the tree.  She was a pro in no time!  This "project" was right up her alley!

 Reach! Reach!
Waverly loved having Papy pick her up so she could put the ornaments up higher on the tree!

It was fun to start the Christmas holiday with decorating the tree.

The kids all had a great time playing and it was a great kick-off to the holiday season!

To Grandmother's House We Go

On Friday, we went to Mamaw Gail's house for more Thanksgiving dinner! Yum!

Waverly had fun playing at Mamaw's. She even got Go to read her a story!

Uncle Matt came to visit too!

Mamaw cooked up a great Thanksgiving dinner and we stuffed ourselves silly.  Stuffing, anyone?

Waverly thought the turkey was the best thing ever!  Later, she decided to eat some yogurt, just like a big girl sitting at the table.  She stayed with Mamaw for a little bit so Mommy could venture out on Black Friday.  She had so much fun!

We wrapped up the evening at home, all settled in for the night.  Daddy read Waverly a story before night-night and then it was off to bed!  Waverly was so tired, she ran to the bed, jumped in, and instead of night-night kisses, she just hollered "you!" (meaning I love you) to Daddy.  Shew, kids catch on quick!  She's too funny!

Gobble it up!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

We started the Thanksgiving holiday with our last art project and then added it to the fridge!

Waverly and I watched part of the Macy's parade together.

She loved the Rockettes and did her imitation of their dance! It was the cutest thing to watch her throw her leg in the air!

We actually had two Thanksgiving dinners on Thursday.  Daddy came with us to go see Pappy Allen, Nana Betty, Uncle "Mott" and the whole crew!

The kids with their Daddy's.

Tanner was really happy to play with Waverly.  He was all smiles for turkey day!

Tanner shared his toys with Waverly and taught her how to play basketball!

After stuffing ourselves silly, we took a turkey day nap and then went next door to Mamaw and Papaw's for round 2.  We had a huge amount of food!  It was so yummy!
We learned that Waverly really loves turkey, too!

It struck us funny that the big kids sat at the "kid" table!

Waverly had a ball showing off for everyone and being her cute self!

She was really happy that Mamaw Gail and Go-Go came to Thanksgiving dinner, too!

It was a great day, where we were all thankful that we had family to visit and good health and nice weather.  Most of all, I am thankful for Waverly, who brightens my days and warms my heart, and Harlan, who is sure to bring us more joy as well.

Daddy's Girl

Waverly was certainly Daddy's girl last night!

First, she wanted to have some fun "weeee's"!

Then, she helped Daddy finish his Popsicle while they watched the big trucks on tv.

She's Daddy's little girl, through and through!

Growing, Growing, Growing

Yep, Mommy and Baby are growing, growing, growing!

35 weeks!
On Friday of last week, Mommy went to the doctor for another check up.
Harlan's heartbeat sounded as strong as ever!

Dr. Looff pronounced us both a-ok!  At our next appointment, we'll have some testing done to be sure Harlan is doing well.  Dr. Looff ordered a non-stress test, some lab work and some time spent with a fetal monitor.  From all this information, we are hoping that Dr. Looff will schedule us to be induced in the near future.

After the quick trip by the doctor's office, Mommy decided a day of pampering was in order!  After a stop by Chik-fil-a for lunch, I went to visit friends and have a quick spray tan on my face!  When you can't have the real thing, just a touch of color makes you feel better!

Then I went by the nail salon for a pedicure!  Between the massage chair, heated shoulder wrap, foot massage and hot towels, I was starting to feel relaxed!  I remember when I was this far along in my pregnancy with Waverly and how great a pedicure was, and boy, it sure was nice this time too!  I chose blue polish in Harlan's honor, just as I had chosen pink for Waverly.

Waverly said Mommy had pretty toes!
Perhaps my feet are a little swollen, but all-in-all, they sure did enjoy the pedicure!

Today marks 35 weeks!
Baby Harlan is growing and packing on the pounds.  He seems to be a quiet baby, only moving around when Mommy is trying to rest at night, or when we're both hungry, of course! We are getting anxious to meet our 'lil man!

No Worries Weekend

This past weekend was just a couple of lazy days!
On Saturday, Waverly and I had breakfast and then planned our shopping trip.
Waverly helped Mommy write out our list.

Papaw stopped by to get something for Daddy, and Waverly told him we were going "shop-shop".  Papaw gave Waverly a little spending money so she was ready to go.
Once we were at the store, Waverly found her a toy right away!  She was so excited to see "Dora-ra-ra"!  This Dora the Explorer doll comes with her friend back pack and when you squeeze her tummy, she talks!  Waverly was super happy!

Sharing her milk with "Dora-ra-ra"...
Yes, Dora is spelled with three R's at our house!

The rest of our weekend was spent being spoiled by Papaw and Mamaw!
We had lots of yummy food, some baking fun, and play time!
Playing with her flash light...

Helping Papaw on the computer...
It was a great moment when Waverly turned on the music on the computer by herself!  She went wild, dancing all around!

Reading books with Mamaw Jean...

 Practicing her pouty face...

 Giving Papaw that look...

Playing Toss!

We certainly enjoyed spending time with the family this weekend!
