Vacation Bible School

Waverly and Harlan were invited
to Alton Baptist Church for Vacation Bible School!

Our friend Abby Kate
was so excited that we came.
We had a great time too!
Wavy and Harlan each went to their own classrooms.
Mommy got to help out too!
We enjoyed dinner and learning and playing with our friends.
Here's a quick look at our week of V.B.S.!

Abby & Harlan

Harlan and his teacher.
Even the little puggles had lessons.
We learned a bible verse, made crafts and projects,
and learned about mission trips.

Harlan and his Puggle friends!

We made time for outside play, too!
Harlan made a friend...
he's such a little ladies' man!

This game of crawling through the tunnel
was after one of our lessons about Paul.

Looking thoughtful at craft time...

Harlan's crafts

Wavy is the true story and example of this week.
The bible verse for the "cubbies"
is "God helps me.  I will not be afraid."
Hebrews 13:6.

The week began in tears,
as Waverly didn't want to be without Momma or Brudder.
She was scared to go in her own classroom,
even with her friends and teacher.
But, by the end of the second night,
there were no more tears, no more worry
and much more fun!

Wavy was dancing and singing to our
colossal coaster song
and rockin' it out for Jesus.

Harlan liked to dance too!

One night, we had a special guest come to bible school.
This nice man is a wildlife specialist.
He brought several animals for us to see,
including this cool turtle,
and...
a GIANT spider!
Just kidding!
This is a fake spider!
But, we did get to see some fantastic bugs,
spiders, and they even had a sugar glider there.

Wavy enjoying craft time.

By the last night,
Waverly was asking to go to bible school.
She was full of funny faces!
She loved showing me her mega-phone,
to shout out-loud!

We had a fantastic week
and learned so much!

Babies in Boxes Part 3

I guess when you're little,
there's nothing like having fun in a box.

I had a big box leftover from an order
and I thought how fun it would be
for the kiddos to color.

Of course,
baby H would rather stick his crayons between his toes!

But W was fairly excited with her "project".

Like Sophie's Choice...

The sucker or the plug?
Touch choice.

The plug wins.

Chick-ons!

One of the biggest adventures the kids have had
is raising their very own chickens!
(with the help of Memaw Jean.)

Both kids have had such a grand time.
They have raised the chickens and roosters since they were just tiny little clumps of feathers.  They have no fear of the chickens, either!  Waverly just herded the chickens back in the coop when we went by to feed them.

The kids wear their chicken boots to go play in the coop with the hens.
Harlan calls them "chick-ons".  He has learned how to bok bok and crow like a rooster.

Harlan's latest accomplishment is saying his first full sentence.
It was "Gross!  Chick-on poop!"
But who am I to judge?

Fun in the Sun

How about some fun in the sun?
It is summertime, after all!

The kids have had a blast in the pool and running around outside.
They both adore the outdoors.
But with a swimming pool,
toys,
and lots of country air,
who wouldn't?

Out with Momma!

Tonight after work and daycare,
we went shopping!
We enjoyed the new Kroger.

Waverly did a great job looking for the things on our list.

She might have found a giant cupcake too!

Harlan enjoyed his ride around the 'shop-shop' too!

Since we used up all of our "power", as Wavy says,
while we were shopping, we needed to eat!

We settled at our table at a local Italian restaurant.
The kids were so nice sharing their crayons.

We were hungry though!
Harlan thought he was a hoot by eating his bread with no hands!

We enjoyed our pasta and had a great night out with just the three of us!

Banana's in bed

It's not breakfast in bed, but a banana instead!

Peddling or Paddling?

Wavy has learned how to peddle on her tricycle!

She can peddle backwards and forwards and
scoots back and forth down the sidewalk a million times now.

She calls it "paddling".

That's right, sweetie.  Paddle with the best of 'em!

18 Months and Growing

Harlan's well check was excellent!
He was such a big boy at the doctor's office.

He is growing right on cue,
is a smarty-pants,
and has hit all of the milestones for his age.

McDinner

A rare treat is to have dinner in the living room.
Almost always, we sit at the dinner table.  Tonight was fun and with happy meals to top it off!

Harlan is such a boy.
He loves french fries, and well, food in general!
He is my good eater.  He will also play with his food, too....
often times sticking a fry between his toes.  Gross boys!

Waverly is more picky,
preferring her fries to be toe-jam free.
She is insistent on having McD's honey mustard regardless of where the kids' meal came from.  She always wants to order for herself, and likes a "me-ium" sprite.

Pretty Nails

Wavy loves to have her nails painted!
She's allowed to 'paint' her nails with cuticle oil
and then its Mommy's turn to doll her up!

Waverly was thoroughly excited to have polka dots on her nails...
she really was tickled!

Best Dad hands down!

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful daddy's out there!
Waverly & Harlan made best dad pictures for daddy!
