Pizza Rules!

 We love making supper together,
especially when its pizza night!

I love teaching the kids how to do things,
like cook! They each made their own little pizzas,
custom to their own preferences!

CraZ Sand!

It's a crazy sand kinda morning!

The kids love this stuff!
It cleans up easy, sticks and smushes together,
is soft and silky, and never dries out.

So even though they woke me up super early,
on a Sunday,
I let them get the sand out....

Plus, I get to enjoy those beautiful smiles!

Flippin' Fantastic!

She had to check her makeup
in the phone camera...

She was in a super silly mood today!
She did her flips and just...
hung around!

Cartwheels on the balance beam...
now that's impressive!

First Mohawk

Silly boy.  He needed a mohawk.

(Side note, both kids love bath drops,
which are dissolving tablets that color the bath water.
Tonight, Hs was yellow.... Ha!)

Selfies before School!

We might be a little addicted to
taking selfies before school...

But its boring just waiting in line,
so we might as well!

Pretty Pedicures

When I grow up, I want to be the person that
gets to name the nail polish colors.

Shop Girl

Watch out, she's loose in the shop with a sharpie!

Hope Ritchie didn't mind a little writing on his nice,
shiny, new panels!

Pretending to drive daddy's buggy!

Selfies

Harlan disappeared with my phone...
when it finally returns, I find this adorable selfie!

Off the top of my head

They don't play around when it comes to snuggles.
Its all up close and personal.

Daddy's girl

Harley

My Harley boy is the best dog!

I brought him home back in early 2003, probably in February, I think it was.
From the little pup that was digging up the lady's plastic flowers in the yard,
he sure has come a long way!

He's always been a great dog.
He learned to sit with no problem, and he is protective of his family and home.
He is a husky-chow mix and he's loyal beyond belief.

It's hard to believe this ol' boy is 12 years old now.
He's still a puppy at heart!

Joining the Circus

The circus is in town!
Of course, we just had to go!

Before the circus performers came out,
they got to jump in a bouncy house and then
we devoured cotton candy!

The lions came out first and
were bigger than I imagined they would be!
Harlan liked them the most,
but he also really enjoyed the motorcycles riding in the huge ball.

Wavy's favorite part was the lady who trained the horses.
She also liked the trapeze artist who twisted and turned up high on the ropes
to the Elsa's song from Frozen. Waverly was so impressed
that she decided she wants to be a performer when she grows up!

During intermission, they each did face painting!
Waverly was my most beautiful butterfly,
while Harlan was a ferocious tiger!

The circus was exhausting!
I think they really enjoyed it!

Under the Weather

Poor buddy still doesn't feel so well.
Back to the doctor we go!

We wait patiently...

Check out our pulse rate...

And then play around so that the doctor doesn't think we are really sick...

But, eh, another ear infection.  Poor bud!
Hopefully this round of meds make him feel all better!

Feeling Fine at Five!

Waverly's five-year-old well check
was a success!

She picked out her own hair bows,
just for the record....

She did great for the doctor!

She passed all of the 'tests' with
flying colors!

Though at one point she did
try to convince the doctor that mac-n-cheese
is a vegetable...

The only little hiccup in our day
was when the nurse pricked Wavy's finger
to test for any lead in her blood.
Wavy did NOT like that part.

She got lots of stickers for boo-boo
though!

Momma's Boy

My little man...

If you ask Harlan what to do for the ladies,
he will tell you:
1. Put down the potty seat
2. Open the doors and let them go first
and, last but not least,
3. Let them lay on my arm.

He may be all boy through and through,
but he is a sweet boy when he wants to be!

3 couches and where does he choose to sit?  On the arm of the love-seat!

Crash, Crack, Smash!

Most unfortunately, we had a little car accident.
Not to worry; there were only mild bumps and bruises,
but a good deal of adrenaline in the form of fear.

We rear-ended another car that was stopped in the road.
The kids had been talking and playing the game "mommy",
and I looked over my shoulder at them and it only took a second.

The most scary part was being strapped down on the
board for the ambulance ride.
Both kids were fine with only bumps and bruises,
but we all went to the hospital just to be safe.

Waverly had somehow pinched her top lip
between her front teeth, and that bled for a minute,
prompting Harlan to later ask why sissy was a zombie...
She comforted him right away.

Harlan had a bruise on his belly from the seatbelt,
and just to be safe, he had an x-ray of his chest.
All was fine!

Momma is safe too,
with a bump on the noggin' and a sprained wrist.
We are just thankful that we are all okay!

Eye-2-Eye

As part of the many requirements
for preschool and Kindergarten,
it was time for us to have our first eye doctor appointments!

Harlan started us off, hoping onto the chair
with no hesitation. He was happy to be a pirate with an eye patch,
and then to wear the funny glasses and tell the doctor what he could see!

Following in her little brother's footsteps,
Wavy took her turn!  Though a bit timid at first,
she livened on up as soon as she realized that the eye doctor could be fun!

After all the tests and machines were done clicking,
the doctor reported great eyesight for Harlan,
and a bit of far-sightedness for Waverly.
She doesn't need glasses quite yet, but may when she gets older.

To that we say, "eye, eye, matey!"

My Sunshine

.

I adore my new necklace charm.
With Waverly and Harlan's birthstones,
they remind me all day long that they are my sunshine.

Big & Tall

Harlan's living large
in Daddy's semi-truck!

Not to be outdone,
Waverly is proving that she can
stand tall on the monster truck!

Sharing Charlie

They are "sharing" Charlie....
*All dogs were unharmed during the make of this picture, and, uh, after too.

Just chillin'

Electronics....
great diversions during traffic jams.

Dinner Time!

We're one of those families that is considered
either spoiled or lazy,
in that we usually go out to eat once a week or so.

Tonight?  It's Lee's, or better known to
us as "the chicken house".

Wavy likes the biscuits!

And Harlan is excited to have pickles!

Workin' at the Car Wash

A trip to the car wash makes me mom of the year.

Sometimes, they are easy to please!
