Happy Birthday to Mommy!

A very happy birthday for me, spent in the company of the best of friends. 

It made turning 30 not seem so bad!

A man of many hats

Harlan wasn't in the best of moods this afternoon...

but he still wanted to wear his hat.

He couldn't chose between his hood or his snow cap.  

He found a compromise.

What swims in the water, 

has a big fin, 

and large teeth?

Well, when he is wrapped up in his shark towel!

My Mommy & Me

It's..... Girl's Day!

Wavy and I wanted to spend some special time together, so 

we planned a fun day!

We started our outing 

with an appointment to get our nails done!

This is Waverly's first (of many, I'm sure)

professional manicure.  

She sat beside me while I had my toes prettied up, 

and she held very still while her nails were painted.

She had a shy moment, 

but then she warmed up and was sure to warn

the lady "not to get out of the lines".

When she was all done, 

she agreed that they were just perfect!

After we were finished with our nails, 

we decided to have lunch together.

Wavy loves to order for herself!

Just for fun, we decided to share 

a dessert! 

It was a sweet ending to a sweet day with my sweet girl!

Dinner for Four

Going out to eat can be fun! 

We had such a great time at Cracker Barrel!

Waverly is proud of herself for reading her menu

and ordering all by herself! 

Quite an accomplishment for someone who used to be so shy.

Who's hat?

After all our silly faces and chit-chat, 

we had a good meal and a great time together!

Boys will be boys

Little girls usually choose a 

stuffed animal or a sweet baby doll to snuggle with at night.

But little boys?

Why, they sleep with trucks, of course!

Cupcake Cuties

What better way to spend a cold Saturday afternoon

than in the kitchen baking? 

I'm fairly certain this is the first time 

they have ever braved tasting the batter... 

which they loved!

They even shared the bowl!

Then it was time to decorate...

with fondant! 

Wavy did pretty good, 

but H was more interested in just licking the icing!

My Crissy

Wavy has claimed Crissy as her own, 

though she will "share" her with me.  

She is crazy about all animals, but

she has a special place in her heart for little 

Crissy dog.

Hard Lesson to Learn...

Sometimes it's hard to behave. 

It's hard to understand that you have to be nice to others, 

temper tantrums are unacceptable, and that you will have repercussions for your actions.

Daddy helped Harlan learn that he can not throw his cup just because he didn't get his way. 

At least he had some company during his time out.

Happy Birthday, Soapy!

Our friend Sophie is turning 2!

She's a lucky little girl, because even in the middle of winter, she gets a pool party!

Good news for all the water babies!

Harlan was a little hesitant, 

having not been to an indoor pool before.  

He quickly found a little truck and had a blast playing, 

but only around the edge of the pool.

Wavy warmed up after a few minutes and 

was happy to splash and play. 

It was really fun to watch the kids play under the sprinklers and 

the water fall, but my water babies didn't want to get their hair wet.  

After swimming, we had pizza and cake and presents with the birthday girl!

Harlan calls her "Soapy".

It was a great party and we hope Ms. Soph enjoyed herself!
