Having Harlan at home has been wonderful.
There have been so many firsts for him this week!
Mommy and Daddy gave Harlan his first bath at home.
Of course, it was just a little wipe down while we wait for his umbilical cord to fall off.
He started out happy...
But then decided it was too chilly without his usual soft blankie...
After telling Mommy to hurry up, he was all calmed down again! He loves to have his hair washed, just like his big sister did when she was a newborn.
All cozied up after his bath, Harlan was once again a happy baby. He is such a calm baby, preferring to snooze all day long... if only that would continue at night time!My favorite is that fresh and clean baby smell... so intoxicating!
On Wednesday, Harlan had his first doctor's appointment at our pediatrician's office. He was super excited to go for his first ride in Papaw's truck...
This is my excited look...
Harlan weighed 9 lbs. 8 ounces at birth, then lost a little weight as newborns do. He weighed 9 lbs. 4 ounces on Friday and 8 lbs. 15 ounces on Saturday when he came home. Today he weighed in at 9 lbs. 5 ounces!
He wasn't too happy about sitting in the "boat", as Waverly calls it.
Harlan was a real trooper at the doctor's office. He even woke up to say hi to Dr. Spath!
Harlan checked out just perfect, as we all knew he would. He is a happy and healthy baby!
Many more firsts' to come!
