This weekend, Mommy and Waverly stayed home and worked on some Christmas projects!
On Saturday, we stayed in our jammies almost all day long! After just a little bit of cartoons, Mommy encouraged our couch potato to find something to play with. Waverly chose some of her puzzles and did them all by herself!
Then we decided to work on some Christmas crafts! We did some coloring and stickers...
And then we used glue to make some refrigerator magnets! Waverly did a great job using a Q-tip to apply the glue where Mommy said, and then she placed the pieces together on her own!
On Sunday, Mamaw Gail came to visit! We had plans to make Christmas candy! Mamaw had told Mommy how she wanted to make candy every year with her grandkids, just like Mamaw Burriss did when I was little.
We set out making peanut butter fudge, peanut butter balls, puppy chow (chex cereal), chocolate dipped peanut butter crackers, and chocolate fudge!
Waverly helped, too! We gave her a piece of wax paper with a piece of the peanut butter roll to play with. She must have been paying attention while Mommy had wrapped presents the day before, because she promptly folded the paper around her piece of dough. Then, she thought she'd find a present to wrap, so she chose Mommy's pot holder and wrapped it up in wax paper. I found it later under the Christmas tree!
After nap, Waverly was much more interested in candy making....
We made chocolate dipped marshmallows, which although very time consuming, are really quite tasty. Waverly had more fun eating them than actually dipping them in the chocolate!
Waverly preferred her own cookies, but she liked helping with the ritz crackers, too!
I think that we will have to make this an annual tradition! It sure is a yummy one!
It was a festive weekend, and we so enjoyed spending time with Mamaw and Papaw and Mamaw Gail. And the countdown to Christmas continues!
