Happy Birthday!
Waverly spent her 3rd birthday in fine style... She chose her own outfit for the day, a very pretty dress. She spent the whole day with Momma! We had a nice lunch and we visited with everyone at mommy's work. Tonight, a special night just for Wavy, with presents and her favorite dinner!

Uh-Oh, Sketti-O's!
Do we like Spaghetti O's?
Yes, yes we do...
Do we like making a huge mess?
Yes, yes we do...
At least someone thought it was funny...
Until this happened...
Then I see this:
Best. Picture. Ever!

Sleep little baby...
Harlan decided a nap in his car seat this morning would be the perfect thing to start the day off well!

Daddy's Lil' Grease Monkeys!
We stopped by the garage to check out
Daddy's latest project,
a new built-from-scratch rock crawling buggy!
The kids were happy to see so much stuff to get in to...
Harlan explored all over the garage, with
Momma right on his heels.
He had to check out all the tools.
Wavy was more interested in the seat for the buggy!
Dad seemed happy to see the kids, too!

Early to bed, early to rise
Almost every night,
these little munchkins go from room-to-room
playing before bedtime.
They play well together,
more so in Harlan's room,
since he is the better sharer (for right now!).
They both like climbing up on his big boy bed
and then rolling off again.
Silly kids!

The Real Smokey Mountains
The kiddos stayed with the grandparents
while Mommy and Daddy slipped away for a
weekend get-a-way!
Have you ever seen the Great Smokey Mountains?
Well, I have many times. But this is the first time I have ever seen and understood the reference.
The mountains looked smokey! We could see the smoke coming right off the mountains.
It was magical!
We stopped in the snow for a quick picture!
It was beautiful, wet snow and it fell so quickly!
Since we were so close to the Christmas Shoppe,
I ordered our Christmas ornament for last year (um, a little late!).
After choosing my ornament,
the calligrapher wrote our names right there in person!
I am jealous of his talent.
Later, back at the hotel, we shared a pizza.
This is a family tradition - to always order a pizza when out-of-town!
And of course,
we had to get our Ol' Timey Photos!
Daddy was a good lookin' cowboy!
He tried his best lines on the lady at the bar...
um, momma... with her fan and fancy dress.
But I'd say he won her over in the end...
We always visit our favorite store,
the beef jerky outlet!
Ok, so maybe we are a little goofy,
but its an entire store of beef jerky!
Its fabulous!
Before leaving town,
we visited the Apple Barn for lunch.
Not only is this one of the best places to get a home-cooked meal,
but they make the best apple fritters and apple pies ever!
A quick one-night stay, and it was time to for
home-sweet-home!

My Daddy & Me
Waverly can usually con Daddy
into playing in her room before night-night time...
After she hands him a million toys or shows him one of a hundred
new 'tricks', she asks to read a book before bedtime.

A lil' sass, a lotta class
Waverly can be a little sassy...
She is so much fun. She always has something clever to say,
is doing something cute, or thinking of something new.
She's doing well with her school work, but
we still take a break for some coloring!
Wavy is smart as a tack and
I just can't wait to see her succeed!
Brush, brush, brush your teeth!
One of Harlan's favorite past-times
right now is to brush his teeth.
He doesn't mind to have several toothbrushes to choose from.
He will brush his teeth, rinse his toothbrush, and go back for more!
We love those bright-y-white-y's!

Good Girl, Bad Piggies!
We are all so excited for Wavy's 3rd Birthday!
It is coming up really soon.
Wavy wants an "angry bird" party!
She loves to play the angry birds game. She has
angry bird jammies and house shoes, toys and, of course,
she can play the game on our phones.
She likes her "bad piggy" house shoes!
She will tell you "I no like piggies!"
but she's just being silly!
We have a lot of party planning to do!
WE are so excited for an angry bird-day!

Little Love Notes
Valentine's Day is quickly approaching!
We have begun working on our valentine cards.
Wavy is very focused, making sure each card
has a smiley face, a sticker, and sometimes a stick person!
Harlan is more interested in tasting crayons,
coloring on the floor, or wadding, um, I mean, folding up his cards.
But these two are cute little valentines!

I'm a big kid now!
Harlan loves playing in his room!
He has so much fun, shares his toys (most of the time)
and especially loves company in his room.

Boo-boo sticks
Harlan's one-year-old
well-check went well!
He gets a clear bill of health!
Then came those dreadful bee stings!
Harlan was NOT happy.
He had three shots today, one in each leg, and then the left leg got a double whammy.
However necessary, those immunizations sure don't feel good.
Checking out at the doctor's office, Harlan
decided he was so tired after this exhausting ordeal,
he just laid down in the floor for a nap!
Poor baby was fine after that!
yo-yo-yogurt
Momma finally got brave enough to let Harlan feed himself yogurt...
It got a little messy....
But most of it made it in his mouth!

A Quilter's Success
Harlan's baby quilt is back from the embroidery shop!
I am glad that its finished for him.
Each baby's blankie has their
name and the phrase "Made by Mommy"
with the year embroidered in a corner.
I hope they treasure them as much as I do!
Now... onto the next project!

Future Geeks
Ah, the age of technology.
How I well remember playing the first games on a [huge] desktop computer.
Then the Nintendo, bulky cell phones, and let's not forget portable cd players.
Now we have ipads, iphones, androids (a what?) and
handheld video games.
Which my kids love!
Both kiddos are infatuated with our modern gadgets.
They love their handheld games and really have learned a lot from them!
Brudder has an ABC game and a barnyard animal game.
Wavy likes her mobigo and the Mickey Mouse and Toy Story games.
She has practiced her counting, letters and recognition, plus hand-eye coordination!
Though sometimes the games can be confused for telephones...
