Nurse Julie came in and we found Harlan's heartbeat on the fetal monitor. He sounds wonderful! Then we had to wake him up with Julie's fancy tools again, the tin cup and spoon!
The loud clanging did the trick, and Harlan's heart rate rose and fell just as it should.
Dr. Looff came in and checked us over. He said that the baby is really low now. Hopefully, Harlan will come any day now! If we don't see him soon, then we are scheduled to be induced on Dec. 20th.
Next, we went down to ultrasound. The nurse checked on the amniotic fluid, the placenta and of course, the baby!
We watched Harlan for fetal breathing, which he showed us right away. He was tired after our long morning, so it took a little bit to get him wiggling around, but then he showed us some great fetal movement as well. He moved his hand just in time for us to see his little face. His pictures look so much like Waverly's at this point! Harlan already has a head full of hair and he was trying hard to suck on his thumb.
It wont be too much longer now! Here's hopin' for Harlan!
