She as been working on this at day care. She has been able to hold her own bottle for awhile, but prefers to be held and let someone else do the work! Now she is quite content to relax against a boppy pillow and drink her milk. Yesterday when Mommy came to daycare to pick her up, all the babies were laying around drinking their own bottles!
Waverly is such a little sweetheart. She is really into being a copy-cat these days. Just this morning, she copied Mommy and said "Shewww" when she woke up. Then she thought it was a great game to have Mommy say "Ah, shewww" and repeat it back. We are working on how to say "Shhhhh!" so she can tell everyone to quiet down! She is also trying very hard to say "dog" but only a "do" comes out and she reverts to calling the puppies "dada".
To celebrate learning new sounds, our favorite song to sing together is "Do, Re, Me". Then Mommy goes around all day humming, "Do, a deer, a female deer, Re, a drop of golden sun!"
Waverly is eating Stage 2 veggies and fruits now. She likes them much better (and I do too!). Though squash and apples are still favorites, she really likes to have corn and sweet potatoes, plums mixed with bananas and apples, and mixed vegetables.
Dinner goes so well that most of the time, Waverly doesn't even need a bib. When I do put one on her, she just pulls it right off! Her face may get a little messy, but she stays relatively clean now.
We've learned that meal times are all about timing! As long as we stick to a schedule, then Waverly eats her jar food well. I'll be glad to brag about our little monkey when we go back to the doctor next week for a well check!
Yesterday, Waverly surprised Ms. Sandra at daycare by pulling herself up to standing in her crib. When Mommy came in the afternoon, Ms. Sandra asked how long she has been doing that. Waverly has pulled herself up a few times now but this was a first in her baby bed. She'll be cruising furniture in no time!
