What happens at Grandma's, stays at Grandma's

What happens at Grandma's, stays at Grandma's...

Unless she shows you the pictures!

Waverly visited with Mamaw Jean last night for awhile. It sure looks like she had a great time!

Finding creative new toys...

Hello, Mamaw!

I think I can, I think I can...
Reach the plants!

After a couple of hours, Mommy came back and Waverly was happy to see her. She had so much fun with Mamaw. All too soon, it was night time and the wee one was ready for bed. Can't wait for next time!

Sittin' Pretty

Waverly is working very hard at learning to sit up. Her balance has improved so much just over the last week! She stays upright for a good few minutes now, and usually topples over as she is reaching for a new toy or her favorite play thing - her foot!

Ms. Sandra is very creative and has all kinds of tricks up her sleeve. At day care on Tuesday, she had Waverly sitting upright with two boppy pillows to help stabilize her. Waverly is a sneaky little girl though, and can wiggle right out. She likes to turn herself over to her tummy and then scoot along to reach the toy basket.

Sittin' Pretty

I found a bracelet - all by myself!

Waverly was very interested in helping mommy with chores last night. While I was folding and putting away the laundry, she collected all the socks. Now if only she could pair them up...

Helping Mommy

My teething baby...
Waverly is certainly teething. Always amid the drool is her big smile.
I wonder when that first tooth will be in!

Olly, Olly Oxen Free

Waverly's Tummy Time at Daycare

My little girl is really something to be proud of! Even in the throws of teething, she is such a happy baby, full of grins and giggles and shrieks of delight. This past weekend was a blast, full of great Waverly moments.

After a restful evening on Friday night, Mommy and Waverly were both ready to go come Saturday morning. Since Mamaw and Papaw were out of town, Waverly and I stopped by their house to take care of the puppy. Waverly was happy to play with her toys there, but she kept looking around for her Mamaw and Papaw!

Then it was off to the 127 yard sales! We went straight to our friend's house, where they were having a big yard sale. Waverly was so happy to visit with Barbara, Melanie and Makenzie. The boys visited for a little bit, but gave in to the heat and took a break for the house! Waverly was also glad to finally meet Russell and give him some of her big smiles.

Loving Makenzie

Waverly just adores Makenzie, and vice versa I think! Waverly would turn her head and crane her neck to keep Makenzie in sight, following her every move. She was tickled when Makenzie went through some stuffed animals and came up with her favorite - Elmo! He even sings the ABC's.

After all the fun, Waverly was ready for a little nap. She fell asleep in the car holding on tight to her yard sale find - a cloth book of her favorite things. Thanks Wileys! We can't wait to play with new toys and read new books!

Saturday afternoon, Waverly napped on the way to Lexington with Mommy and Daddy. We went to the airport to watch Mamaw and Papaw land in the airplane and then drive them home. They had a great time in Cancun! They must have thought about Waverly a lot while they were vacationing, because they brought her a little straw hat from Mexico. Its just like a hat Daddy wore when he was little.

Sunday was a good morning for yard sales, so Daddy and Mommy loaded up the stroller and took Waverly to Harrodsburg. The weather was pleasantly warm, and Waverly did wonderful! Daddy bought her a new-to-us walker with Sessame Street designs. She loves it!

Waverly lasted until noon and then the game was up! She was ready for some air conditioning and a snack. I could just tell in her little whines that she was calling "Olly, Olly Oxen Free" to signal that the game was over!

Just a couple minutes and she's a happy girl!

Waverly all dressed up - her "Little Black Dress".

Hurry, Hurry Drive the Firetruck

Today Waverly participated in a fire drill while at daycare. Ms. Sandra said that she did very well. Surprisingly, the loud sirens didn't really bother the little ones. The three babies were all loaded into a crib on wheels and out to the safety spot they went. Waverly just loves her little friends, so she was content to be with them. The bouncy ride outside was fun and she was all grins. The little ones stayed quiet and then once the area was clear, had another ride in the crib on the way back in. What an adventure!

For Monday and Tuesday of this week, I had to be away for work and was unable to see Waverly at lunch time every day. She also got to wake up for Daddy and he took care of her in the mornings and early evenings until I came home.

I was so glad to see her each night, though with her bed time, it was short visits. Last night was wonderful because we had a fair amount of quality time together.

Waverly had a bath and played in the water. Then we sang songs and read a couple of books. She played in her exersaucer for awhile before bed, too!

She loves the sea life on her exersaucer. She is really good in it now. She can twist and turn plus her feet reach so she can turn circles. She 'walks' both forward and backward. She's growing up so fast!

Late last night, Waverly was sleeping away but a little restless. She was tossing and turning. Finally, she found Daddy's arm and settled right down. No more flailing about after she found him! It was so sweet I couldn't resist a picture.

I've already found my prince...

his name is Daddy.

Can you see my smile? Hiding it well!

If you give a mouse a cookie...

On Sunday, Waverly and I joined our friend Sarah for her birthday and celebrated in true girl fashion - by shopping! We had a nice lunch and then went straight to our favorite book store. Sarah read to Waverly her favorite childhood book, If you give a mouse a cookie. It is now one of our favorites too! We can't wait to read If you give a kitten a cupcake!

It was much too warm inside the crowded stores, so shopping was limited to just a couple of stops. Of course, we had to buy some toys and clothes for Waverly! Here she is modeling her new pink onesie.

My Cutie!
We had such a great time and hope that Sarah enjoyed her birthday. Can't wait for another girls day!
