Car Conversations

Gatlinburg Bound!

This past weekend, our little family went to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee!

This would be trip #2 for Waverly. She did wonderful traveling!

She started out with a good, long nap!

She slept for the first 2 hours into our trip!

At lunch time, we stopped somewhere along the route and had Dairy Queen.

Waverly decided that she really liked Daddy's ice cream, especially the fudge!

She was so excited she would shake in anticipation of the next bite!

Back on the road again, it was time for some entertainment!

Waverly sang Mommy and Daddy some songs, basically consisting of her favorite word "baby".

Then we had a snack!
We colored and read books. To pass the time, Mommy and Waverly played "Can you say...". This is a typical game we play when riding in the car. It goes something like this:

Mommy: "Can you say... apple?"

Waverly: "App - ppple."

Mommy: "Can you say... Mom?"

Waverly: "Mum!"

Mommy: "Can you say...Dad?"

Waverly: "Dad!"

Mommy: "Can you say... Abby (Nana Pam's puppy)?"

Waverly: "Abb-a" (said proudly, since this is a new word)

Mommy: "Can you say...socks?"

Waverly: "Shocks!"

Mommy: "Can you say...shoes?"

Waverly: "Shoes!"

Mommy: "Can you say... Crissy (our puppy)?"

Waverly: "Hi, Baby!"

We really enjoy this game! Every time I try to sneak a new word in, Waverly catches me!
After our games, it was time to play with toys. Instead of drinking her milk, Waverly shared with her baby.

With all the fun, it wasn't long and we were there! Yay! Let the vacation begin!

Glow Baby

Daddy found Glow Sticks and brought them home for Waverly to play with!

Since they are water-proof and non-toxic, she hopped right in the tub with one!

Waver;y was trying to figure out why her water was glowing bright pink!

Then she decided just to splash water everywhere!
We were all dripping wet, but the fun was worth it!

Our Baby Bean

Late Monday afternoon, Daddy and Mommy went to the doctor's office.

Poor Waverly wasn't allowed in the ultrasound office, so she stayed with Mamaw and Papaw.

We sure wish she could have taken a look at Baby Bean (which I am affectionately going to call baby #2 until we learn a gender).

To our great surprise, we got to take a peek at baby bean!

They wanted to do an ultrasound to find out officially how far along I am.

6 weeks!

That puts baby bean's estimated birthday at December 26! A Christmas Baby!

We were very happy to hear the whoosh, whoosh of baby bean's heart beat.

I'm not sure Waverly believed me when I showed her the pictures and told her it was a baby. She went to get her baby instead!

Waverly loves babies!

Her favorite game is to wrap her baby up in a "blanket" (or towel, dish cloth, etc.)!

Almost got her all wrapped up!

Then she enthusiastically hugs and rocks her baby to sleep.

I think she will be a great big sister!

Taco? Taco, anyone?

One of Waverly's favorite words is "taco". We have no idea really, where she picked it up.

To the best of our knowledge, she hasn't eaten a taco before, and its not like its something we would say every day!

But, it is her word for now. Good thing its adorable!

Since Waverly keeps reminding me, we made tacos for dinner the other night.

She loved helping out. Of course, she mainly played with a pot holder, but it was still helpful!
This pot holder fit all the way up past her elbow! No hot pans for this little one!

She can clap with one big hand, though!

What a high five that was!

To my surprise, Waverly ate most of my soft-shell taco! Go figure!
That girl loves a snack!

So proud of herself for helping!

I like this picture of her with Daddy, chilling with some Cheetos after dinner!

Rockin' for Healthy Babies

For the 2011 March of Dimes March for Babies,

Waverly and I joined TEAM ROXY!

Here is a picture of Ms. Roxy!

She was born 11 weeks premature, but has grown up to this beautiful and super smart little girl!

We are so glad that she is doing so wonderful!

Her mom, Samantha, has been fundraising and spreading awareness for the March of Dimes. We are very proud of our friends for meeting their goal of $2,000 this year!

Waverly and I were very excited to join in the walk for healthy babies this past Sunday! Roxy is Waverly's best friend, and they were so excited to see each other!

Right on time, all teams set off marching together. It was great!

The 2 miles or so walk was easy, being that we were in great company and with a great cause!

Waverly was thoughtful about babies on her stroll...

Reaching out to others...

or just wanting Mommy to speed up?

We had a great time walking!
We hope to join in every year!

TEAM ROXY

Roxy had quite the turn out!

She is a very loved little girl!

Thanks to everyone who supports the March of Dimes!

We are very thankful to have had a healthy baby of our own. We sincerely wish that one day all babies will be born healthy!
