Stringing Lights

Every year that I remember, we've had the annual "decorating the tree" party at Pappy & Nana's.  This year, they had a real live Christmas tree!

All the little kids love helping hang up the ornaments.
Most of the decorations are those that we made when we were about their age.

Harlan was very focused in the play room...

but I eventually convinced him to come put some ornaments on the tree!

Almost TWO!

Can you believe that Harlan's 2nd birthday is almost here?

We celebrated his birthday a little early over at Pappy & Nana's
this weekend.  All the kiddos were there and they had so much fun!

The cupcake-cake was a huge hit!
The boys were all about icing, especially Harlan!
He had his cupcake and then I'm pretty sure he snuck off with a second one!

But, eh, it made him smile.

And it made his tongue blue!

Our friend Sydney had a birthday just a couple days before,
so we did a special cupcake for her!

What a ton of presents Harlan had!

(We sure do know how to wrap presents in this family... its all walmart bags or tissue paper!)

Harlan loved his gifts and we send a big thank you to everyone!

This little piggy

Surely by now you all know how often these two kiddos are side-by-side...

Apparently, their little piggies are best of buddies too.

The pigs even sit at the table with them while they have supper and do their schoolwork!

Just like two pigs in a blanket!

Welcome home, Ella

Ah, Ella, welcome home!
Its been a busy year, but we've missed you while
you were at the North Pole.
The kids are so excited you have returned to keep an eye on them
and report their good, and bad, behavior to Santa!

Each morning, we look to see where you've settled after
your nightly report to the big guy.
Its a game we play to see who can find you first!

Sometimes, Ella was a little naughty too!
She wrapped our Christmas tree in toilet paper!
Wavy calls her the sneaky little elf.

My little turkeys!

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

We made our own turkeys, using our hands and feet of course!
We never skip an opportunity to paint!

Of course, dinner and family time is our favorite tradition.

I spy a Harlan...

We hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving!
