Hey Handsome...

All snuggly right after a warm bath!

Harlan is on new formula and is doing so much better.  He is a happy boy!

He loves to play!
His favorite toys are the rattles on his "baby gate", as Wavy calls it.
He leans back in his bouncy chair but can still reach out and shake the rattles!

Daddy taught Harlan how to stick his tongue out.  He does it all the time now!

Silly boy!

Mommy's Little Baker

Waverly and I are always baking something... mainly cupcakes!

Now that Waverly is older, she is allowed to help with the baking!
She tells Mommy what ingredients we need... water, oil and eggs.
We always count the eggs together.  She gets to put each ingredient into my big mixer.

While the batch is mixing, we line the pans together...
and we just watch the mixer.  Its fun!

Waverly is very patient while we are baking.
She helps clean up some, too!

Building Blocks

Waverly loves playing with Daddy.
Almost every night, she grabs him by the hand and drags him to her room.
He is happy to play, too!

One of Waverly's presents was a big bunch of building blocks.
She likes to put them together, break them apart and dump the entire basket in her lap.
Daddy showed her how to build a BIG tower!

They worked so hard on it, too!

Waverly was proud of their BIG tower!
She was even more excited to push it over though!

A BIG Storm's Comin'

A BIG storm's comin'!

It was a Friday morning when the talk about the upcoming weather began to take over conversations in our great state.  By lunchtime, I was concerned enough to take off work in the afternoon and get the babies home where we could get in a basement should the likelihood of tornadoes insist.

No doubt, we did enjoy the nice, warm breeze for a bit.  Waverly loved being on the deck outside.  We had talked about the big storm that was coming.  She also loves the episode of Dora the Explorer where Dora and Boots warn all their friends about the big storm cloud.
Waverly said over and over, "A BIG storm's comin'!"  We have a whole conversation where she tells me it will rain on her hair, then we sing "rain, rain, go away" and Waverly tells me that "he'll be baaaack!"

Well, the big storm did come!

We watched these very clouds forming.  When it began hailing, we gathered the kids and went to the basement at Mamaw and Papaw's house.

In Lawrenceburg, we had hail the size of baseballs!

We all went downstairs to be safe in the event a tornado should strike.  The hail was alarming!

A few minutes after the hail ended, we determined it was all safe and went outside to survey the damage.  All of our vehicles have dents, as well as the roof and the siding on the houses.
My new-to-me truck had a broke windshield, too!

However, we are more than thankful that this was all the damage we received, as news from around our state and nearby filtered in.  The towns that were devastated by the rounds of multiple tornadoes are heartbreaking and remind us that we are thankful to be safe and sound.
Harlan was exhausted after all the activity of storms!

After the tornadoes struck on Friday, who would have thought that we would wake up Monday morning to 4-5 inches of snow!  That's Kentucky weather for ya!

This was one of the most beautiful snow falls I have ever seen.  The heavy, wet snow was simply breathtaking!

Since the weather is changing so much, lets all hope for a bit of warmth and a happy spring!

It's off to work I go...

Mommy's first day back at work was exciting!  First, my office was ambushed...

... by my adoring friends and co-workers!
It was so nice of them to cheer me up on my first day back to work!
I loved it!  I had a nice visit with the girls over breakfast bagels and coffee and then it was back to work for me.  The kids had a great day, as well, and we will all fall into routine soon!
