Sharing Colors

Waverly had a big day yesterday.  Papaw Dean picked her up from Nana's and went on a shopping spree!  She got new toys, jewelry (bracelets and rings!), a toy puppy and a BIG coloring book!
Waverly was excited to color with Mamaw Gail when we got home.

She loves to share her colors.  Waverly will hand them out and ask that you color with her!
She likes to choose the colors, and knows several of the names now, including blue, green, yellow, purple and red.

Looking at their masterpiece!

Later, Waverly and I went back to Papaw Dean's and Mamaw Jean's house for dinner.  Waverly was all sugared up with juice and yogurt, so she had a blast and provided prime entertainment!  More playtime to come!

25 Weeks and Counting

6 Months!  What a milestone we have here!  It seems both to have gone quickly and yet not at the same time, but we have reached the 25 weeks mark.

Baby Bean is now the size of an eggplant!  The average size is about 13.6 inches to 14.8 inches and weighs about 1.5 to 2.5 pounds.  He's going to be a big boy, so I am guessing we lean toward the 2.5 pounds at this point!

This week, Baby Bean is enjoying a new sense of equilibrium, which means he knows which way is up and which is down. He is growing more fat, and more hair too!

Last week's glucose test produced negative results!  This means that Mom must check her sugar in the mornings and two hours after each meal.  I will keep a record of it and show the nutritionist on September 22nd, for the first appointment with them.  I will also be watching all sugar intake, which may mean grumpy mornings without any coffee!!!

Mommy is also seeing a physical therapist for hip pain and is pleased to report that the therapy is helping!  Both the muscle energy and ice, plus the stretching exercises are providing some relief.

Other exciting news includes our next doctor's appointment with a new doctor and I will soon schedule our 3D ultrasound!

A Weekend with Waverly

What a great weekend!

Saturday, Mommy and Waverly loaded up the truck and went to Aunt Phyllis' house for a big yard sale.  We sold some of Waverly's baby clothes (with the exception of any clothing that was pulled for future quilts!) and plan to use the money to buy her some fall and winter clothes.  Waverly had fun playing!

Waverly especially liked playing in the tunnel that was part of her tent set!
There were two little kittens that also loved the tunnel.  Waverly would chase them in and out of it!

Sunday was a 'Mommy & Me' day!  Waverly and I cooked breakfast for Daddy and watched cartoons with him for a bit.  Then we played and played!  After nap, we got all dressed up and went to town to do our weekly grocery shopping!  Waverly had fun telling everyone, and I do mean everyone, "Hi"!  She was much loved throughout the whole store!

Waverly loves her new boots!  She insisted on wearing them around all day!  We had a lot of fun playing outside.  She likes to rock in her chair and climb up and down off the porch.  She will tell us "outside!" insistently until we go outside to play!

Waverly's favorite past time right now are her "colors".  She is all about coloring and drawing.  She has a ton of crayons that I put in a butter bowl for her to carry around.  Even if its not suggested to her, she will ask to color.

She is very serious about her work, too!  She concentrates on what she is doing and is sure to stay on the paper.

While I was cooking dinner, Waverly decided to color.  She began sitting on the couch, but when I snuck over to check on her, she had sprawled out in the floor like a big kid.  She didn't want to be interrupted on her drawing, but she let me take one quick picture.
I think her favorite color is orange.... she uses it the most!

After she finished her drawing, she brought it to me for approval.  "Pretty?", she asked, with those big eyes.  "So pretty!", I replied.  And then the drawing just had to be tacked to the refrigerator for all to see!

We had a great weekend, as always.  And we hope that all of our readers have a week filled with 'colors'!

Boo Boo Sticks

Friday, Waverly had an afternoon doctor's appointment for her last 18-Month-Old shot.  She was due for her last Hep A shot, but we couldn't have it at her well check because not enough time had lapsed between her visits.

She was all dolled up in her Harley and Roses outfit!  Mamaw Gail was spoiling Waverly with this little outfit!  Nana Pam had her hair all done, with pretty bow-bows to match.  Might as well get dressed up!

Recuperating at home from the boo-boo sticks!

Waverly did NOT enjoy her boo-boo stick!  Since we weren't seeing a doctor today, she was taken to a little room and Mommy held her in a tall chair while the nurse prepared and gave the big shot.  Poor baby!  But she only cried for a couple minutes, and only gave the nurse her mean look once...

Since that was a big enough adventure for one day, we went home to rest!  Waverly cheered up when she got to play outside.  When I asked if her boo-boo hurt, she looked at her leg and then gave me a pouty face!

Where's your boo-boo?

She liked her band-aid though!  And she got a Blue's Clues sticker for her troubles!

We had a quiet evening at home, playing cars and trucks and dolls and puzzles.  Waverly loves to play in her room.  She will go in there and choose an activity, and bring it to Mommy and Daddy to play.

She also loves that she has a big mirror on the door and she can watch herself dance and be silly.  One little boo-boo stick didn't slow her down any; she was a happy girl all weekend!
