Yard Sale!

Early Saturday morning, we loaded up the blazer and took off for Mamaw Gail's house.  We had a big yard sale!  Despite the rain, it was a good day.  The storms blew away after a morning of rain and the sun came out for awhile.

We had lots of things in the yard sale!  All items we aren't planning on saving for Baby Bean, of course.  Waverly helped Mamaw put price stickers on everything.  And then she pulled the stickers off to play with, too!

Waverly was thrilled when she saw some of my toys from when I was a little girl, namely all those baby dolls!  I was really into the water babies when I was a little girl, but I thought the time had come to let go of at least part of the multitude of items I hang onto.

Of course, Waverly fell in love with all these dolly's!  A few just had to return home with us, but now to join Waverly's toy box.

Hi, Go-Go!
Waverly enjoyed visiting with Mamaw Gail, Gary (who she now calls Go-Go) and Aunt Phyllis.

Mamaw had some new toys for Waverly to play with.  One of her favorite new toys were a set of a three little alligators.  Waverly says "alligator" with the cutest little kid intonations.  Its her biggest word to date and I love it!  It sounds more like "alli-ga-toooorrrrr".  How great is that!

A sleepy Waverly missed her usual nap time, but enjoyed a stroll around the neighborhood with Mamaw Gail.  Waverly made $60 for her savings account, and we plan to have another yard sale soon!

Dimples & Dumplin's

Friday night, our little family went to the McElroy's for a homemade dinner and great company!  We always have the best of times together.

It was so much fun to get our little girls together!  Annie and Waverly played very nice together.  Their favorite thing to do was to look out the window to see the chickens and the goats.  The little girls played kitchen, baby dolls and read books in Annie's room.

During dinner, Waverly looked over at Annie and without any prompting, said "Hi, Annie".  Annie taught Waverly how to make the sounds of a rooster, too!

Denise made a wonderful dinner for us.  The chicken and dumplings were homemade from scratch!  Yum, Yum!  I made brownies for desert, so we all had very full tummy's!

We had a wonderful evening, but before we knew it, it was time to go home!  Looking forward to the next time!

Good-Hearted Babies

Baby Bean is going to be good-hearted, I can tell!  At the doctor's office this morning, the nurse was able to pick up Baby Bean's heartbeat right away!  That little whoosh-whoosh sound is pretty magical!  Baby Bean's heart beat was sitting at 160 beats per minute, just perfect!

Mommy is doing well, too!   Besides being uncomfortable and tired, I really have no complaints.  Baby Bean is growing and loving all that Mexican food I crave!

Big sister Waverly has a kind heart, too!  She is a very sweet little girl.  Just this morning, she decided to wake up her Daddy with hugs and kisses.  Since Daddy is usually the first one up in the mornings, Waverly thought this was a great game!

Haha, Dad!  Wakey, Wakey time!

Have a nice weekend, everyone!

Cooking Lessons & Tea Parties

For the past several weeks, Mamaw Gail had been teaching us her favorite recipes during her weekly visit.  Mommy and Waverly have learned how to make fried chicken, deviled eggs, chicken and noodles and biscuits and gravy!  Mamaw is a wonderful cook, and everything is homemade.

Homemade Biscuits & Gravy!  More, please!

After our cooking lesson last night, Mamaw Gail had a tea party with Waverly at her new table set.  They had so much fun!

Waverly loves to sit at her table.  She even got out the tea cups and cupcakes to play with.

Mamaw would take a pretend bite of cupcake or drink of tea and then hand the toy back to Waverly.  Apparently, this was the funniest thing ever!
They just had the best time!  We love Mamaw's visits!

I see many more tea parties in our future!

All By Myself

Last night, I rocked Waverly to sleep and placed her in her toddler bed.  To my great surprise, she was still there when I went to bed myself!  And, to my even greater surprise, she was still there this morning when the alarm went off!

I should probably note that this is the first time Waverly has slept all night in her own bed!  She was so excited to see her new toddler bed put together.  She loves to jump up and down, causing Mommy's heart to palpitate and a stern lecture to follow.

Waverly has always slept with us.  Co-sleeping has just worked well for us.  She has taken a few random naps in her crib, but mostly, snuggled up with us at night.  I missed her night-night snuggles, but I had a great good morning hug as reward!

Waverly has also become very interested in dressing up!
She likes to pick out her own clothes... normally a dress.  Then she will try and try to put it on all by herself!
 She's most the way there...
If at first you don't succeed, try a prettier dress!
She's a pip!

With all these new things Waverly is learning, I must wonder to myself where that baby of mine went to!  She is all grown up... well, to toddler hood that is.
