Walking with Waverly

Last night, Daddy showed Mommy how to use the video option on the digital camera. Who knew that was there all this time?

Doctor, Doctor!

Late yesterday afternoon, Waverly had another doctor's appointment. This time to recheck her ears and make sure she had fully recovered from the allergic reaction. Papaw was happy to pick her up and bring her to the doctor's office to meet Mommy. She was happy too, playing Patty Cake and talking to him the whole car trip!

Waverly weighed in at 23 pounds, 11 ounces! She had actually dropped a few ounces compared to the scale at the Urgent Care Center. She has been eating very well, with an extra snack even, since taking the steroids to help with the allergic reaction she had.

Dr. Spath felt confident that the reaction was to the antibiotic Waverly had been taking most recently. That means no more Amoxicillin, since the Augmentin has that in it too!
Her ears looked much better. She still has a bit of fluid in her right ear, but continuing to take the Zrytec should resolve that. We were very happy to know she is doing better!

Having a snack while waiting for Dr. Spath...
Dr. Spath also said that we could stop giving the steroids to Waverly, since her rash has disappeared completely. This was wonderful news, since that medicine makes Waverly grumpy! Now she can go back to being in a good mood all the time.

We didn't have any other questions for the doctor, since we've been seeing her every week! Only a couple more weeks and then it will be time for Waverly's 1 year old well check!

Mommy's Little Helper

Waverly has been on the move! She is now walking short distances consistently. She loves to walk and then lunge for you when she gets close! I think she'll be running before long!

Waverly was Mommy's helper this week. She likes for Mommy to vacuum the rugs so that she can say "Vrooom, Vroom". She is very helpful when its time to clean up and puts most of her toys back in her toy basket! We sing the clean up song together and she knows just what to do! Books go back on the shelf and her dolly goes back to the toy chest.

Now instead of taking all her clothes out of the dresser, Waverly will put her clothes in the drawers! Even when we aren't doing laundry, she will walk over to the dresser and open the drawer. She will choose a shirt and then fold it and put it back. Adorable, I know!

Thanks so much for helping Mommy!

Just call me Spot...

Here lately, we just can't catch a break! Poor Waverly had an allergic reaction over the weekend. We aren't sure if it was to new soap or maybe the antibiotic she has been taking for her last ear infection. Either way, my poor little one was very itchy on Friday!

Though seemingly happy, Waverly was very blotchy and red. Her skin was irritated and broke out in a rash. I gave her bath in a clean tub using our much loved goat milk soap to soothe her skin. This trick worked for a little while, but in the middle of the night, the rash was worse! We called Mamaw Jean and she came right over to check on her. We were all thinking chicken pox, since the bumps resembled it.

On Saturday, Waverly seemed a little better. We thought maybe our warm bedroom had made the rash worse over night. Another bath and a trip to see Mamaw Gail put us all in high spirits. Later at home, the rash spread more and we thought it was time for a trip to the Urgent Care Center.

Waverly was on her best behavior at the doctor's office! He said she had an allergic reaction and prescribed her some medications to treat it. We gave them to her at once, and she looked much better Sunday morning!

Being sweet to her baby...

Mommy and Waverly stayed home all day on Sunday. We took a nap, did some cleaning and watched a movie. It was a great lazy day! Daddy treated us to pizza for dinner, but Waverly thought it was better to steal Mommy's cookie...

Cookie thief...

She ate it too!

Thankfully, our wee one is feeling much better. She has to go back to the doctor this week to have her ears rechecked, so keep your fingers crossed that she is well!

Miss Polly had a dolly that was sick, sick, sick...

Little Waverly is starting to feel better, after almost a week of antibiotics. Her runny nose is clearing up and she acts like her ears are better now. She still has a cough, so Mommy has given her a couple of breathing treatments this week to help.

Tissue, anyone?

I need a lot of tissues...

At least she puts them back in the box!
Daddy snuck a picture in while we were sleeping!
And that is just how we sleep every night! All snuggled up together!

Last night, Waverly was really a ham!
She was in great spirits, playing with a slip of paper. She likes to hand it off, wait for you to say thank you, and then hand it back to her. Most of the time, she imitates us and tries to say thank you back!
Then she really starting talking!
We have no idea what she was saying, but she was telling us all about it!

Waverly adores her baby dolls!
She likes to hug, rock and pat the baby on the back. She gives her dolls lots of love. Last week at daycare, Mommy came by for a visit. Ms. Sandra asked Waverly where her baby was and Waverly crawled as fast as she could to the other side of the room where her dolly was sleeping in her crib. She got the baby out and gave her a big smooch!
Waverly has been taking her antibiotic well this go round.
She doesn't like the taste much, but has been more cooperative.
She likes to play with the dropper after she's taken the medicine...
... but she thinks this end tastes better!

Waverly's 1st bubble bath!

Last night, Waverly had bath tub full of bubbles! Grammy Betty found Johnson & Johnson soothing vapor bath soap for Waverly and we gave it a try. She didn't know what to think about the bubbles! After a little hesitation, she just ignored the bubbles and played with her toys. Between the soothing vapors and breathing treatments, we hope to nip this cough in the bud!

Waverly has figured out this bath toy!
She knows that when its full of water, she needs to hold it up high! The water sprinkles out.
Then, she knows to hold the toy down under the water to fill it back up, always giggling at the bubbles it makes. Such fun!

Waverly is learning about opposites this way. We have also been working on the word "kitty", but she insists that all animals are "dogs", which is super cute. She is also learning how to point to her nose, but she knows just where her toes are!
