First Dates

Dean and I had a date last night, the first since Waverly was born. It was so exciting to get ready and have somewhere to go. We had a nice dinner and then Comedy Off Broadway to see Comedian Jon Reep. We had the best time, and my face still hurts from laughing.

Mommy and Daddy saying good-bye
Waverly stayed with her Mamaw while mommy and daddy were away. It was hard to say good-bye, especially since she had just woken up. She was happy though, so after some cuddles, we were able to leave almost guilt-free.

Mommy, still trying to say bye.
We were back by 11:30. Mamaw gave us a good report. She said that Waverly had a good time playing with her toys. She is even able to reach the floor now when in her walker. Mamaw said that Waverly moved all the way from the kitchen to the dining room in her walker! Last week, her toes were barely touching. It is amazing how fast she has grown. Mamaw also said that Waverly would look around for Mommy, but she was just as happy as she can be.
Waverly was sleeping when we took her home.
She was tired after her visit, which equals sweet and cuddly.

This morning, she was all grins and giggles.

Playing with her new favorite toy, her feet!

Wow, I've got toes!
Our sweet little cuddle-umpkins had a great time with her Mamaw last night. Though we missed her, we had a good time too.

Havin' Fun

What a fun Monday! Mommy and Daddy were off work and day care was closed, as yesterday was a holiday. So, our little family spent the day together.

First thing in the morning, Waverly needed a bath. After a scrub down of baby magic, she was cuddling with her Daddy and being silly. She loves her bath time and has a fun time splashing and kicking the water. She's still bathed in the sink, and then she gets a nice baby massage with lotion. Such a happy girl!

In the afternoon, we went out shopping. Daddy needed to go to Louisville, so off we went. We even detoured a bit into Indiana, so now Waverly is officially a multi-state traveler. Waverly loved going to the Bass Pro Shop and shopping.
She had a stroller full of toys in no time, but we managed to get away with only buying one toy for her. She fell in love with a stuffed animal blue bird that makes bird calls.

Learning to wave? Happy accident?

Surprise! Mommy is taking more pictures!

Playing with Winnie-the-Pooh.
We had dinner with Mamaw and Papaw, where Waverly did a good job of eating her cereal. She even tasted a little watermelon and cantaloupe juice. What smiles we get from those new tasting experiences. All in all, it was a great Monday.

Baby's First 4th of July!

Waverly had a blast on her first 4th of July!

Last night, we watched the fireworks at the park. We actually parked at Wal-mart so that we would be a safe distance away and the loud booms wouldn't bother Waverly's little ears. She had a lot of fun waiting for it to get dark.

"Driving" Daddy's truck!

When the fireworks started, Waverly wasn't scared at all. She watched so intently.

She had a great time!

On the 4th, we had a nice family day at home. She spent the whole day with Mommy and Daddy. We all took a nap and then played for awhile before going next door for a cookout. The family was all together, Mamaw and Papaw, Josh and Sara, Marie, and of course, Daddy, Mommy and Waverly. What a fun night!

Future Book Worm

My first trip to the library!

After a great breakfast with friends, Waverly and I went down to the Paul Sawyer Library. It was Waverly's first time and she slept through it all! So Mommy had to choose the books that we got to read. Waverly loves to be read too and we were tired of reading the same books over and over. I chose some Dr. Suess, Madeline and Berenstain Bears.

Thank goodness for strollers - Waverly loves her late-morning naps!

Mommy also chose a couple of sing-a-long cds for the car and a dvd of Elmo's World. The library was great and I am so excited to have new things to do with Waverly. Surely our next visit to the library, she will be awake for and will enjoy it too!

Sweet Baby at 4 Months Old

Waverly turned 4 months old yesterday! Simply stated, she is wonderful.

Tummy Surfing!

Waverly can support herself so well now.

She will be crawling before we know it!

My new teething ring!

We had a visit from the teething fairy! That's right - at four months old, Waverly is drooling and biting on everything to bring those sore gums a little relief. She is rarely fussy, but teething has definitely begun. She is doing very well, though, with little fever or other teething side effects.

I'm supposed to be sleeping!

It's a good thing I'm so cute!
